My wife teaches high school and she was on a trip to France over spring break. She and the kids were so disappointed with the protests, strikes and associated piles of garbage.

I told her: "Honey, this is the most authentic French experience your kids could have hoped for".

Yeah...you dont want to see my photos of Paris from my trip to the Champions' League Final.

That place was trashed...granted...there was less fire...

Pretty much. I went to France on a high-school trip ~20 years ago and guess what?

Random, Rotating Museum strikes...which I must admit was an interesting concept. The French are the French. Viva La France!

I was trying to get back to the UK for a flight to Canada from Paris. My train was late due to rail strikes, so I missed the transfer bus to the ferry. But I saw it in the distance and started running. Fortunately it was a bendy bus, and the lady driving may have been on her first day, as she got it totally stuck trying to get over the bridge. So I hopped on, and caught the last ferry before a 3 day ferry strike. They like to strike lots.

Well, La Marseillaise is basically about evil barbarians coming to attack France and enslave its people and entreats all French people to become as soldiers and water the fields with the impure blood of the foreigners... so... yeah, not exactly PC at this point.

Think about that anger for a minute.

People about to retire...planning it for years...their plans have to change.

People just getting into the career based on now changed information.

I think there is lots of anger to go around.
Are we saying this is a bunch of 60 year olds running around burning things down?

Why? The 60-year olds are collecting.

Its probably the 20-year olds who are paying that are most angry.
