If the Flames are negotiating on a trade, my guess is with the Avs or the Canes.

Canes may not want to pay the price to load up (Risky given the conference load up) and just run it as is.

Colorado doesn't want to subtract from their roster and Makar is a huge ?

I say it like that all the time mainly based on (IIRC) Dick Irvin or someone of that era.

Sell. The sooner you get an influx of picks, the sooner they develop

Do NOT leave the fire sale till next year and a worse draft

I'm sick of purgatory

Brad should be skewerd in his interview

He made a mess in the summer with the premature signings - specifically Huberdeau, Kadri, Sutter

He needs to answer for that by initiating the rebuild that he should've last summer

Nothing good can come from hanging on to 6 UFAs, half of which you won't be able to retain

You're more of a laughing stock for standing pat than ripping off the band aid. This is assuming fair offers have been fielded

Not without some kind of change. Nothing will spark them without something changing

Philosophy, a captain, a core transplant, youth

You need changes in at least two of those departments if you expect this team to go from soulless to competitive

According to TSN the Leafs and the Oilers are “Canadian powerhouses pursuing the Stanley Cup. They are aware the Oilers are a wildcard team, aren’t they?

Hindsight is 20/20, it just hasn't worked out this year. A lot of people loved what he did this summer, including me. They looked like legit contenders. And trading for guys a year away from UFA and not signing them is not a good idea. If ownership wants to be competitive and not rebuild then his hands are tied. I'm sure there will be moves in the summer, maybe a lot of them.

He has 3. 4 counting Stone. And he can trade for 2023 picks right up to the draft.

All his big pieces are 2024 UFAs, not 2023, and I've gone over and over why these are not easy contracts to move at this time. And why the evaluation has been skewed due to goaltending anyway.

Your last sentence is pretty key though. What is a fair offer for Lindholm? I'd say more than any player so far.
