Markstrom suddenly turned into a potato. I don't see how that's the GM's fault (unless you're making the case that Marky shouldn't have been signed in the first place).

I’d take Trevor Kidd back in a heartbeat.

Watched a bit of the post game coverage it every goal was “this is not on Markstrom” and gave some excuse for why he let it in. I guess I shouldn’t expect the teams own coverage to be critical or objective.

That's because we allow one EV shot against in the last 25 minutes and its in the back of the net. How confident would you be? People blaming coaching or defensive breakdowns are deflecting.

If it wasn't on markstrom then the team must expect to give up 0 shots or chances
He was 0/1 to start that third period after his team launched the comeback
Had one job, on one play

I’m not a stats guy and my eye test has him as pretty damn good over the last 25-30 games. He’s a solid dman. Would be nice to see more offence obviously but he’s far from a liability.

He likely shouldn’t have been signed but Trev can’t help but make questionable FA signings. Well then again when you bleed your own system dry of draft picks by trades you have to get starters somewhere.

I wish that we could let Huberdeau walk to free agency after the season. 10.5 million for a 60 point guy is going to kneecap this team.

Weegar is pretty solid overall. He's tough, too
With Kylington here, he would be utilized perfectly
He's basically everything I wish we got when we acquired Hamonic

No bueno.
Need a big Kings win over the Wild tomorrow to keep us within a manageable point deficit.

If reliable optimist VFF is losing faith then this team is truly boned.

Ya been thinking the same thing for months.
Not liking the Kadri contract either. Prefer Tre had passed on him.
But Huberdeau’s is a killer.

Better yet, if he was UFA we would be trading him, not letting him walk.

A good team can win consistently with .910 goaltending. A really good team can win consistently with .900 goaltending. I don't think there have been many teams assembled in the last 25 years that win consistently with .890 goaltending.
1 5v5 shot the last 25 minutes and it goes in? Markstrom literally just had to stand in the middle of the crease square to the puck carrier and that puck doesn't get across. Just doesn't have his head in the game at all.

Outside of last season, Markstrom has been average at best. So, if one subtract this bad season from the good season last year, he's just an average keeper, not deserving the $6 million that he got.

I disagree with this "throw Wolf to the wolves" sentiment so much. This year's team doesn't deserve him, and Wolf himself certainly doesn't deserve this bunch of sad sack losers ruining his confidence with awful efforts every 2 out of 3 games. Give him games next year maybe, but don't put him on this current dumpster fire of a team.

They consider Markstrom a star. Special treatment maybe.

The funny thing is that even if you think you can still make the playoffs you try to move Markstrom by the deadline. Together with a few others.

Markstrom will be competing with Brouwer and Neal for worst
UFA contracts in team history by the end of his deal.
