Big Backlund fan….
Shocking ignorance , imo, that people don’t see Backs as the primary culprit on the Preds second goal.

Maybe Huberdeau will pot a couple tonight.
And maybe Carrie Underwood will blow me a kiss.

I would love it as just sheer bad luck on Markstrom this season that things are not going his way because of the team in front of him. But at some point you have to look at the big picture. Markstrom has it in him to take the game over when the team is #### in front of him. That’s on him to do it at this point.

They just replayed it and it was just a mess all around. Puck goes back against the grain off a shin or skate and Markstrom was lucky to stop that one.
The more troubling thing is the Flames skating.

The “picture” I was focused on…was the second goal. Pretty clear on that.

And that’s totally fair. Not all goals are going to be strictly on the goalie. But it’s starting to happen more often than not on him. But I do understand your point.

That’s enough on my end about goalies. Time to keep positive and I believe Calgary can pull this off!

You can get too focused on who to blame for goals against IMO. You have to make some plays to win the game.

I can't really blame Markstrom on either of those. I would like to see the occasional miracle from him, but that probably isn't fair. I think last season, at least in the regular season, he drove up my expectations.

Going to be tough to win scoring zero goals tonight.
Be nice to see a few forwards take charge out there offensively.

It's absolutely fair. About ten in one hundred shots over a large sample size will be ones that "the goalie shouldnt be blamed for".
The really good goalies stop two of those on a regular basis (over a large sample size), give or take.
Markstrom doesn't.

I get that it’s the last game of a road trip but we look terribly average at best.
