I just watched the Leafs game. The Leafs sucked and deserved lose, but how does the war room call that in? Someone had money on the Yotes me thinks. The on-ice officials made no call of a hand pass. In the replay it looks completely possible that Keller's stick touches the puck while Reilly is batting it down. His stick is basically inside Rielly's glove as he bats it down. It also looks like it could have hit Keller's skate. It just seems way to inconclusive to call over and have the goal reversed.

^ If they ruled it a gloved puck, it hitting a Coyote's skate before another Leaf touches it doesn't matter. It has to be Arizona possession to negate the gloved pass.

79.1 Hand Pass - A player shall be permitted to stop or “bat” a puck in the air with his open hand, or push it along the ice with his hand, and the play shall not be stopped unless, in the opinion of the on-ice officials, he has directed the puck to a teammate, or has allowed his team to gain an advantage, and subsequently possession and control of the puck is obtained by a player of the offending team, either directly or deflected off any player or official.
The difficulty I have with the call is to say that he directed the puck to a teammate or allowed his team to gain an advantage.

He knocked the puck down and it fell at his feet, which led to a battle for the puck and his teammate came away with it, but to call that a glove pass is stretching the definition too far, in my opinion.

He knocked down the puck to keep it inside the blueline and nothing more. I love that the Leafs lost the game but I would be pissed if that call was made against the Flames. That overturned goal was way too ticky tack like calling a goal back because you think you can see a less than a millimeter of white between a puck and a blue line on a fuzzy screen shot. Last season was fun because scoring was up and I just hate goals being called back for stuff like this where they are splitting hairs on replays that aren't very conclusive.

He kept it in the zone, allowing his team to gain zone possession.

“… or has allowed his team to gain an advantage, and subsequently possession and control of the puck is obtained by a player of the offending team”

Even the broadcast called that he gloved it down at the line.

Super early and no victory laps for me but I enjoy the hockey so far. There's compete.

queue: immediate Jets collapse lol
I’ve liked their roster for a bit. Would want their defence improved but their defence was picked apart over the years. Still seemed like a decent roster that wasn’t clicking for some reason.

On Dallas, I think the league is going to get a shock by how good Oettinger is. He seems dialed in already this year.

Only thing missed is them not calling it on the ice...that is a hand pass every time. He bats it down with his hand and his team mate is the next player to control the puck.

I think Keller kicked that puck but whatever it's still a nothing play.

Arizona will win some games this year, it happens.

That call could have easily gone either way.

Keefe's post game comments were absolutely spot on. Why are you even in that situation?

That's definitely not a kick, or else Coleman kicked the puck in game 5.

The puck simply glanced off his skate.

that was not a kick, and the right call was made

another example of how having replays is actually worse than not having them, though
