Gritty shifted the mascot paradigm to a point where I think Scorch could be very successful. People want their mascots to be scumbags now.

Gritty could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and he wouldn't lose any voters.

It's Philly.

Gritty could kick Santa's ass while eating a cheesesteak and not lose any followers.

Just make him the ####ing mascot for the Wranglers. This really isn't complicated. This isn't like changing the constitution or something, it's selecting a ####ing mascot, and the fans have made it incredibly easy for the Flames to do so.
Remember how long it took for Retros to become/return as the Flames full time jersey? I think it's like that

Yeah, this organization never really seems to have a sense of what the fan base wants. They’ve gotten better of late but its taken far too long and this is another misstep.

few mascots have as much potential as scorch . this keychain thing is blasphemy! when scorch gets out of hell he's going to Kodak Black whichever dumb mascot the team comes up with

any good costume makers on here? someone can make a home replica then have a season ticket holder near the rink volunteer to do something like the green men at the games and just become the unofficial mascot

Exactly.

This organization tells us what we should like, rather than just listening to what we want

really thought they were on a good streak of finally giving the fans what they were pining for including Darryl and retros full time . odd they would play dumb with the wranglers mascot as if this isn't the easiest decision ever with all the visible fan support on online communities and twitter

The original Scorch costume would not have withstood a season of wear and tear. A reimagined Scorch, remade using professional standards but still retaining the goofy charm, could've been plausiblly explained.

What’s to stop a fan from making a Scorch costume and wearing it to the game and doing mascoty-like hijinks? Asking for myself

Me, I prefer investment-grade worthless rubbish, like Nortel stock, Enron contracts, or subprime mortgage derivatives issued in 2007.

How, you ask, can I afford such premium assets? I bought them with my Eaton's credit card.
