My impression (after living in Montreal for 3 years), is that many Montreal fans/media members have this weird sort of entitlement that all French-speaking players want to play for the Canadiens.

If you think Calgary's a tough market for players, imagine Montreal. The pressure put on players (especially French-speaking ones) is amplified.
