I’d argue hes a top 4. Overall he’s better then Kylington.

I’m glad Zadorov re-signed here, a big physical defenceman and has the confidence to jump up in the play as well, much like Kylington in that way. Plus it’s only a 2 year deal so not really any type of anchor.
Good player and signing.

He also fires the puck with Stone like precision and pace. Which is to say, he misses the net a lot, but it’s a really hard shot.

Plus earning 7.5m in just two years isn’t that bad, he also has a young family. Was probably an easy decision for him.

I like it. Thought he had a good playoffs. Way better than that Gudbranson deal.

I liked what Zadorov brought to the team plus, the term and AAV are palatable. Easy to move at next year's deadline too if we have to.

I agree. Zadorov may be assigned to the third pairing, but that doesn't mean there are four defencemen better than him overall. Kylington played with Tanev because he is still learning the defensive side of the job and needed a rock-steady partner. Zadorov played with Gudbranson because Sutter likes to have a pairing that can go, ‘Hulk smash!’ It's all about roles, and things may slot differently this season.

I actually like this. Familiarity with the system, toughness, size, maybe the biggest hitter in the league, only 27... lots of positives.
I pray he works on his discipline and cuts down the dumb crap.

Zadorov strikes me as a very bright, thoughtful guy.

This. Very thoughtful in his interviews prior to last season.

I also appreciate how Zadorov was scratched to start the year but instead of whining and moping, listened to the feedback, got better, and became a mainstay on the team. Shows a lot of character.

Z is a great human being.
This speaks volumes imo, love the guy.
Sometimes the bonehead penalties are questionable, but his toughness will be needed this year so I'm happy with it.

I think he'll continue to improve under Sutter too. A two-year deal is perfect.

I think there's actually a pretty good defenceman in there. He's still quite young and has always been a bit of a raw project. Some consistency in his career and some Sutter tutelage should be a good thing for him.

I like zadorov. He is better than minimum salary guys like Meloche, Gilbert and the rookies
Don’t like paying him that much but it’s not that bad since Treliving doesn’t know how to spend it anyway

I thought he’d be closer to $5 mill for at least 4 years. Great deal for the Flames. Welcome back Z!

Because he said he would test free agency? Maybe he tested and decided this was best for him.
