Franella going after Betty and Veronica was unecessary . No need to use u-turn or pass boards when in 1st and make enemies. Let the 5, 6, 7, 8 teams fight it out.

Oh! I kinda thought that was a bit clever, to have the 2nd team UTurn them, though. I felt that they should have had to wait for the 3rd team to arrive and leave, though.

I agree. I thought that should have been against the rules. Obviously it was within, and a clever and mean play, but should have been against rules.

I have to wonder if that just didn't occur to the judges as something would occur. IIRC, the first two teams arrived pretty close to each other, but B&V had to wait until the team that wasn't there both ARRIVED and left before they could. It seemed like two sets of rules.
It seemed to me that having the second place team bump them, they should have defaulted into 4th place (having had to wait for the 3rd place team to both arrive and leave). That really kinda irked me.

But theoretically the 2nd team could have arrived way after the 1st team and think they arrived first. So used the bump on the 1st place team in error and wasted it
it just so happened that they arrived close together and were in an alliance

Court and Ali are uturning a team ahead of them so it's void. It's killing the board, happens often in Amazing Race US.

It's not a UTurn though, it's a Pass. It was stated that a passed team had to wait for the next team to both arrive and leave before the passed team could leave. It's more like a Yield than a UTurn.
I might feel differently if F&N had already left, but they hadn't. So if F&N and C&A showed up, F&N used it, told C&A to pass them AFTER they left, then it would be void. But C&A used the pass before F&N left, so it should have bound F&N until the third team showed up and 'passed' F&N.
At least, that's how I feel it should have worked. Clearly, the producers felt differently.

That's not how those sorts of things have ever worked, and it would be chaos if they tried to enforce them that way.
F&N had already passed the station. Whether they were 2 feet past the station or 2 miles, making them go back and wait wouldn't have worked.
Consider if instead of two teams working together, it had been F&N racing to the box against B&V and F&N got there first. F&N would have used it against B&V. It wouldn't have been fair if B&V then said, "Well, they're standing right here... so, we're going to use it against F&N" and they had allowed it. That would negate the whole point of the race to the box.
The rule has always been, first team to the box makes their declaration of whether they're going to use it or not, then they're done with it. There has to be a line, and that has always been the line.

No, I was wondering about it as soon as I saw it. getbak's explanation was perfect, and I no longer have any issue with it at all. I don't get that invested in tv shows.

- Beverley & Veronica
- Franca & Nella
- Catherine & Craig
- Court & Ali
- Brendan & Connor (non-elimination)
- Cedric & Tychon
- Cassie & Jahmeek
- Dennis & Durrell (COVID)
- Jully & Kathy
- Fuzz : Jesse & Marika / Franca & Nella
- chummer : Catherine & Craig / Cassie & Jahmeek
- GirlySports : Brendan & Connor / Court & Ali
- Cheese : Court & Ali / Jully & Kathy
- WhiteTiger : Beverley & Veronica / Cedric & Tychon
- surferguy : Dennis & Durrell / Dennis & Durrell
- getbak : Cassie & Jahmeek / Brendan & Connor

Was surprised to see another non elimination leg. There has been 8 episodes and only 4 teams are eliminated.
That said, happy the boys get another shot. They have been very strong all season and would have been unfortunate to go home over one bad day.

I feel like if they are going to have a challenge with an advantage to certain teams, like ASL or French,(or leading an exercise session!) it should be at the start of the leg, not the end. Give the teams a chance to come back.
Couldn't believe how few people knew what a beaver was.

I assume this is why it was a planned non elimination round.
I do believe they have definitely added some non elimintation rounds due to bringing teams back covid and such.
the way its going, this game will be finished by Christmas... maybe..

I feel the way this leg was designed, it was right to make it a non-elimination. But I am getting tired of legs that don't end with a team being eliminated.
I don't have a problem with ASL or French for tasks, except them being boring to watch. How is that any different than a team having an advantage with a physical task, because they know how to do that activity?

Finally, a team says what I've wanted to hear. We don't need an alliance and we are here to win, not help others win. I'm cheering more for Franella now and less for Craig & Cathrine. Play the race to win.
I also have no problem with the ASL or French challenges ending the legs. It's a skill that people have learned and as Amethyst said, that's their advantage. Same as a physical skill.

They are a couple of losers. Why form the alliance to begin with and only end it when it's convenient for them? Why not cheer for a team that didn't form an alliance in the first place.
Amazing Race needs to start giving penalties for teams that share info.
Greedy beasts.

I don't disagree with you that they should penalize those that share info.
But they are one of my teams so by default, I cheer

Obviously the producers are not discouraging alliances. Random stamps for each team ends alliances, for example.
I often wonder if there are rules in place that we are not aware of. In the mystery challenge, I expect they didn't allow teams to just rattle off the 'suspects' professions one after another, because I would have assumed some would have tried it otherwise.
