Here are two statements:

‘I don't want the Oilers to win games in this series..’

‘I don't believe the Oilers will win even one game in this series.’

Are you honestly unable to tell the difference between these things? Good grief.

Careful. You don't want to be mocking Kane for being a degenerate gambler now.

Ya 100%. Lets not turn into oiler fans. The series is far from over. I've been reminding this to a few friends today. Its 1 game.

If the boys play the way they can we have a great chance to advance. Confident not cocky. GFG!

Wow, this thread drove right over a cliff.

Hopefully we hear some good news tomorrow. Not even that he can play tomorrow, just that he's close. I'll take it.

As much as we need him and a calming presence back there for some guys who had a rough G1, including Markstrom, if Flames can get by without him tomorrow and get him an extra 2d of rest, it would be ideal.

To have him around, more healed and rested for the away games where Oilers get last change, and of course Game 3 will be charged up there too, will be best for our D and goalie, who can get caught up in that emotion.

I think the silence speaks volumes. That and the rumours of a shoulder requiring surgery suggest to me that we don’t see Tanev again this year. Time for someone to step up.

Sutter isn't going to speak of injuries to anyone so not sure the silence means anything.

Who knows? Does seem odd that he keeps skating if he's out for the year but maybe he's trying to convince them he can keep going.

I agree I think it would be weird for him to do that for the sake of a head game with the Oilers. I really hope I’m wrong but I’m also preparing for the worst.

Not only weird, but pointless.

If you do it once, to keep the other team guessing, then bringing him out for practice makes sense.

But if you keep doing it, you're fooling no one - it becomes completely pointless, so there is absolutely no reason to put the player through that.

The fact that he continues to practice everyday says to me that he is in fact close to being able to play.

You could have just been fooled.

Looking at the play he got hurt, it has to be something internal like ribs or something more delicate or maybe his back.

Raffl basically slammed down a cross check on Tanev's midsection as Tanev was sliding past the post, face first, trying to make up for Kylingtons mistake and trying to get to the rebound off the Markstrom inital save.

He didn't move or get up from that face first position, but the cameras didn't show him leaving the ice or really focus on him for the shift he came back that game

It looked like shoulder to me when he fell/was fallen on, and when he skated off.

Yeah, IIRC Tanev skated with Kylington before Game 1.

I think the bottom line is right now our line up is best without Tanev with a bad shoulder in it. We have that luxury right now. Stone is the best #7 dman in the playoffs and is filling the gap nicely. If another guy gets hurt then maybe Sutter thinks about inserting him as a hurt Tanev with his intangibles may be more valuable/dependable than putting in Mackey or Valimaki. The Oilers on the other hand don’t have that luxury or depth thus why they dress Draisitl with a bum ankle. Ya he scored but he’s a liability out there right now for them.
