No matter how well Smith is playing, he's inferior to Oettinger except for shutouts & shots faced. But Markstrom is better than Smith in every category except for shutouts.
If Calgary plays the same style vs Edmonton as it did versus Dallas, there will be more Flames scoring.

I don't expect Draisaitl to escape game 1 without being too injured to continue after the Flames physicality. The Oilers have poor D and Mike Smith in net, this one is over in 5 at the most for the good guys! GFG!
No ottenger , no boxed out d, draisital playing on one leg, I think flames take this in 5 . Wouldn’t be surprised if they sweep. After playing Dallas defensive game , it will feel like pond hockey for flames in offensive zone. Go flames!!!
No matter how well Smith plays he won't be able to maintain the level Oettinger did for a full series. It can only get easier to score going forward. Flames just have to ensure that they can play just as well defensively against Kane, McDavid, and Grumpy Pants.
For all the talk about Oettinger/Smith, I am pretty stoked to be facing Nurse/Bouchard/Keith/Barrie/Russell/Kulak rather than Orr-mode Heiskanen and Lidstrom-mode Klingberg
Of course McDavid is a tough matchup. But I feel Backlund has had more success vs him than against MacKinnon, and Kylington was a difference-maker against him as well.

I want to see an epic beatdown of the Oilers and I think it will happen. They struggled with the Kings who are just a weaker version of the Stars talent wise and completely outmatched regarding experience, which is the reason why the Stars were able to hang with the Flames. Essentially the whole Dallas team had cup finals experience from couple years back whereas the Kings were icing a bunch of rookies.
Flames in 4. If the Flames can execute even 75% of the effort they did in the Stars series they're going to steam roll Edmonton. Smith can't do what Oettinger did.
Their D core is a pale comparison to the Stars D core.
I fully believe that if the Flames were a sword and Sutter was the blacksmith, the Stars series was what quenched the steel.
