It was quite clear Flames had no confidence in the guy in the playoffs. For good reason.

Really? I've often seen it with goalies, going all the way back to ‘Pokey and the Bandit’ (Reddick and Berthiaume) in Winnipeg in the 80s. The history of the league is littered with goalies who looked good for a year or two and then fizzled out.
