Not only is that embarrassing for the game to begin with but it makes the refs look stupid too.

Thankfully the Hockey Gods took note and gave him a cheap penalty at the end.

Sean Durzi is no good.
Plus took several cheap shots at Chucky that didn't get called. I understand that there's the game within the game between players, but the refs need to be a little more aware of what's happening in both directions.

Nice win to bust out of this mini slump. I was worried early on when the Flames weren't up 3-0 when they could have been, than L.A. got the two to take the lead that this might be another night where things would not go the right way.

Much tougher team mentally than some past versions to stick with it and grind it out in the end. Pretty good sign of a Leader to come out with the opening and game winning goal, and the primary assist on the game tying goal too. Nice to see Markstrom hold the fort after the first as well.

Kings will be a tricky out come playoff time. Todd McLellan has done a good job coaching them, and apparently picked up some of McDavid's diving tips to pass onto this group too.

You can only review to confirm a double minor if the call was made initially, but unless we couldn’t hear the whistle on TV it doesn’t seem like the call was made initially.
It would have interesting to see what the officials would have done had Gaudreau hit the empty net.

He drops like he was shot leaving his teammate to defend an empty net.

Tough as nails.

definitely the worst reffed game of the year and that's saying something

still pulled it out

I didn't love the first goal but Markstrom was great the rest of the way, good thing Sutter didn't pull him lol

Closing your hand on the puck is supposed to be automatic.

Also the loose interpretation of the rules at the end. Ref is allowed to double check to make sure the correct call was made...except they didn't make a call they blew the whistle because someone was hurt...not to mention Tkachuk was getting hooked on the play.

Reffing was terrible man
On the last call, I was confused. I thought I was watching the NFL with that replay penalty. Then I thought, have I been misinterpreting the nhl rules all along. Could but believe refs were so blatantly disregarding the rules with such confidence. Blows my mind that was allowed to happen.

Focusing only on Lindholm on his goal is just delightful. He makes the great play along the boards, and then stealthily circles around all the Kings outside of the high danger area, then darts in for the one timer.

You have no idea what was or wasn’t called. The ref blew it dead because the LA player was hurt. Did the other ref call a penalty? Did the linesman?

Players are responsible for their stick at all times. Being stick lifted isn’t an excuse.

To be fair this isn’t entirely what happened. I think within 5 seconds after the Flames game, it’s possible it could be even less time than that, they were straight to Matthews and the 3 goals / Vaive story. Then after that they got back to the Flames for a replay.

So they had coverage, just… had to… get… Leafs stuff… in there. Phew! Close one.

Proud of the boys tonight. Great game. Overcame lots of adversity going into the game and until the very end.

Would love to see the Kings in the playoffs cuz Johnny owns them.

This win should go a long way in locking up the Pacific but would love to see Backlund as the 3rd line C with Coleman and Jarnkrok and either Ruzicka or Dube between Toffoli and Mangi.

Backlund has no chemistry with 73/88 and is holding that line back but would be incredible as the 3rd line C. Worth giving Ruzicka and Dube some extended looks with 73/88 and if either works the forward lines would really be lethal going into the playoffs.

The Flames had had full control of the puck and the play wasn't blown down, so there obviously wasn't a penalty being called.

No hands went up, Flames had the puck no whistle, play called dead when the Kings got the puck and the guy was acting like he was dying (good to go for the PP)

Players are responsible for their sticks but high sticks are missed all the time, like earlier in the game. Review them all or none
