I guess the question is would the Bears have been better off with making their own picks with the two first rounders vs Mack.

Just because the Raiders took Jacobs and Arnette doesn't mean the Bears would have.

The NFL is the one draft where the team picking plays such a big role in the selection because teams are drafting for need more.

The Bears needed a WR in 2020...maybe they draft Justin Jefferson with their pick at that spot instead of Arnette

Wouldn't be surprised if he's dealt by the end of the weekend. He'll still get the obligatory six game suspension, but otherwise he's pretty much in the clear now from an NFL discipline perspective.

I'd almost bet my life-savings he goes to Seattle. I think he still gets suspended, so throwing Lock into the Wilson trade covers them for the 6 games he serves.

You have to wonder what kind of $$$ they are throwing at him to do this.

He had a pretty awesome gig at Fox with the ability to call not only NFL, but the World Series as well.

MNF broadcasts just got better with Joe and Troy but now they have to improve the participants in the games.

^^ Not sure I'd bet my life savings on Seattle specifically, but I'll be shocked if he's not on an NFC team at the end of this.

The only NFC teams with the draft capital and cap space are the Eagles and Seahawks, and the Eagles would have to do some crazy restructuring to fit him in.

The cap is less of a concern, there are always ways to make that work. It'll come down to who will pay the most. Everyone in theory can offer four firsts +. The Eagles, Seahawks and Giants all have the immediate draft capital, but the Texans are really bad and have a placeholder coach. Future picks might be more valuable to them. If anything I'm expecting Carolina to be the most desperate here, Tepper wants a star franchise QB and the thought of Darnold playing meaningful snaps again might cause an insane overpay.

Edit: Can't forget the NTC here, although you'd figure he'll be more open to places he wasn't before given his tarnished rep.

The Giants have a brutal cap situation. I get that the cap isn't real but they need to take a year where they're likely not going to be competitive anyways and just take their lumps.

Between the Eagles and Seahawks, I'm not sure who has a better setup. I'd wager the Eagles do at the moment because their offensive line is better and they play in a much weaker division.

I think he needed to slow down too. His schedule some weeks in October was insane. All 7 days.

ESPN has golf, NBA, HOCKEY etc...

Given their track record in the 1st round under pace, I wouldnt bet they'd fare much better.

With contracts and such I can see the window for making the deal... it didnt work out. SD taking on the entire contract is a pretty huge part of the deal too. I think Ive reaf the Bears have effective cleared 120 for the 2024 season

Default Dallas Cowboys agree to trade wide receiver Amari Cooper to Cleveland Browns

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ns-sources-say

Cowboys managed to get a 5th round pick for a player they were going to cut and it minimizes the cap damage so win for them. Not so sure if this is good for the Browns as Cooper is the 3rd highest paid WR in the league and I don't know if Mayfield is a good fit for him as Cooper needs to be fed the ball or he checks out and disappears.

The Browns should be well versed in those kind of guys by now.

It sounds like Landry is going to be traded so that sets up well for Cooper to be the #1 target. Peoples-Jones has been somewhat disappointing and the only other targets are the two TEs.

Think it works out for both teams. Zero risk for the Browns.
