If they were selling them as addicts or junkies then it actually makes sense and is very realistic. However it appears their only addiction is the need... the need for speed!! Err at least a moderate amount of it.
Krrsantan was about as savage as I was expecting so that was good, but if he wanted to kill Boba he could have easily just shot him in the head in the Bacta tank. I thought it was just like more of a 'rough him up and show him he's vulnerable' move. Then when the Fetts straight up said we sent him to kill you.. that was confusing.
The Rancor part was pretty cool. Is everything Trejo said canon for Rancors or is this another opportunity where they get to pick up a piece of existing lore and flesh it out themselves? Either way it was satisfying.
I liked it, even with the emo street gang angle. It's been very entertaining so far. I look forward to Krrsantan joining Boba and the Rancor rampaging through the Pikes.

As much as people are mocking the chase scene, all I could think while watching it was it's probably the most "George Lucas" thing that's been done with Star Wars since Disney bought Lucasfilm.
Also, it was like they took Siskel and Ebert's list of chase scene cliches and crammed them all in there -- finishing with the infamous fruit cart.

I am loving this series. I have no problem with any of the stuff that you guys are complaining about. For my son and I, Star Wars is appointment watching. It's Star Wars man! Enjoy it for what it is, not for what you think it should be!
My least favourite complaint is that this is not who Boba is supposed to be! Really, we know that because Vader once said "No disintegrations"? That's it. He captures Solo, gets paid. Then he's standing by Jabba and gets accidently bumped into a pit with a Sarlaac. That is literally all we knew about him. Well, he has disintegrated someone and he has been knocked down in fights where you'd think he shouldn't be. To me it is right on point.
Everything else that we are learning about him is brand new, and to me, on brand with the line from Jango Fett where he says he is a simple man making his way in the universe.

People always had this lore of Boba Fett as a bad ass built up because he looked cool in the original trilogy.
But as you said he was just a bit of a lackey in the original trilogy that was pushed over by Vader, and then easily defeated later on.

Most of his bad ass reputation comes from books and comics. Most of his redemptive arcs came much later in the EU, where he was still a character that was neither good nor bad, but had a strong code of conduct.
Even in the video games as a boss, he was a pretty easy beatable boss.
I think one thing that is missing though frankly is that this show is planet locked so we're not getting any kind of Slave 1 bad ass moments. I mean honestly that ship is a character of its own.

That's true. I wish more people would take the bolded to heart.
With the exception of the sequels.
These showrunners are competent and understand star wars and we know that. I think they deserve some leeway & good will.

I'm not liking this one as much as Mando either. For a crime boss, he does a lot of just sitting in a bacta tank and letting Fennec save his ass/do the work for him. Why does he deserve that sort of loyalty. He should show a little rage, be ruthless. Something like the Kingpin from Daredevil.
We'll see with the remaining episodes how this goes.

I'm enjoying Book of Boba so far. Star Wars fans have been starved for content for way too long, especially after having suffered through the completely unorganized ****show that was the sequel trilogy.
It feels to me like Robert Rodriguez/Favreau/Filoni know exactly what kind of Boba the fans want to see (Mandalorian Season 2), and right now they're just using the bacta tank flashbacks to fill in the gaps from RTJ to mando, while introducing new characters, etc. I think they're almost trolling on purpose right now by having Boba getting beat up and having to rely on others, so that in the last three episodes of the season we get OG badass Boba who may even introduce us to the new big bad.. Thrawn. I can't help but wonder if that's where this whole thing is heading, subverting our expectations by showing so much Tattoine and this crime lord arc, and then in the end Boba see's the empire is back and has to decide to either join, or party up with the rest of the Rebellion/New Republic
I'll wait until the end of the season to really decide how I feel about the show but I have to agree with the others who say it's started a bit slow.. lets just hope that the payoff is huge in episodes 5,6,7 like I think it will be!

It's assumed that Fett saved Fennec's life after she was left for dead during season 1 of Mando. I suspect they'll flesh that out more in one of the later episode's flashbacks.
After this week's flashback and the revelation at the end, I think he might be playing possum a bit so far to get the Pykes to show themselves because he wants revenge for the slaughter of the Tuskens.
Also, I don't believe we saw the Tusken Warrior among the dead at the camp, so I'm guessing we haven't seen the last of her.

Luke was perfect in the last Jedi. Only part they got right.

I'm enjoying the series overall, but the brightly colored, tricked-out speeder bikes and the 80s style mod kids took me right out of the episode. That might be the most un-Star Wars thing I've seen in a while. It just didn't feel like it belonged in that universe.

The stuff with Black Krrsantan is great but for some reason those stupid cyber-punk criminals really bothered me.
That didn’t look or feel like Star Wars. That was a massive miss in my opinion. The aesthetic was just so horribly wrong. I thought the idea was cool but the execution was horrid.

I'm surprised that there arent more complaints that in all 3 episodes of this series so far there have been ZERO books.
At no point has anyone seen Boba Fett either reading, writing, holding or having a book of any kind.
Where is Boba's book? If this thing goes the distance without any actual book the fans shall be outraged! Outraged I say!

Yeah, the mod kids gang was weird. There are some pretty bad ass aliens in that part of the SW universe, and there are actually droids that are killing machines. The idea of some punk kids causing trouble with their tricked out bikes is pretty dumb. Someone would just blaster them.....
look there's 4 skinny kids....but one of them has a robot arm...terrifying. If someone was really selling water at jacked up prices in tatooine, they would already have connections with some muscle. He could just hire any of the many thugs walking through the town constantly.
Those kids are a pretty lame army for Boba.
Aside from that, I did like the episode overall. I think the overall story arc is good, but a little predictable. Generally, still very entertaining for me and watchable.

Keep in mind that this is the same universe that had teddy bear ewoks overwhelm an army of troopers and an ATAT.
