Heartbreaking stuff for the Ticats and their fans. I feel for them. They really should have won this game. The CFL is the heartbreak league.

He probably gets to the 20-25 if he takes that out. You gave up a point for 10-15 yards.
Lots of time left, so that’s not an issue, and you make it so a FG sends you to OT, instead of winning the game.
That’s just brutal coaching. And it definitely cost them a grey cup win in this case.

I don't know about that decision to give MVP to Collaros. He very nearly blew it for his team with those 2 egregious interceptions. I would have given it to someone on the defense, either Darby or Wilson. Or maybe Bighill. The stat sheet shows 5 tackles, but what it doesn't show is that those tackles came at key moments and prevented what would have been key plays for the Ticats.

MVP always goes to the winning QB when no one else stands out.

As a bomber fan after some thought, my MOP is Castillo. Made every kick and that single he scored after the ticat returner couldn't handle it was absolutely huge.

Yeah, Zach was a bad choice. He made up for his mistakes but really if he was playing his normal self the Bombers probably stay level in the 3rd if not take the lead, and pull away comfortably in the 4th
That said, the man QB'd the Bombers to a back to back. Who the #### am I to complain about anything. After 30 years of eating #### as a Bomber fan I'm over the moon,.

I thought the key plays that sunk Hamilton were the:
. Unnecessary roughness call
. Give up the single
I would have given the player of the game to Masoli..
That pick to end the game - crazy

As a fan of neither team that was a great Grey Cup to watch. Would have liked to see Hamilton win but bet on Winnipeg so good result. Halftime show was pretty good too.

One other thing... tonight featured both a CFL and an NFL overtime game. I'd say the CFL has the better OT format.

Well I attended. It was a great game. Watched it all from the end zone. It reminds me why this league exists.

Have to give the Bombers credit for a really good season. For most of it no one played even close to the level they could, and when they had a bit of adversity they were able to overcome it. I don't watch too much CFL these days, but caught the last drive of this one where the DB broke that pass up that would have won it for Hamilton.
In a way it's not surprising that Hamilton and Ottawa account for a lot of the Grey Cup losses since the East has been a weaker than the West for a pretty long time, and the Stamps were that team who dominated every week until the one that counted the most.
They got a season in after losing last year and the December Grey Cup wasn't that bad. Hopefully it lets the league get it's footing back and start building itself back up. I still think fewer games in the fall would be better with the mid November Grey Cup. But this didn't work out so badly. It's tricky because I'm not one to want to sit in the stands for a colder night in late October for a regular season game...but in the Summer, I'm about the only employed male in Alberta who makes under 120k a year doesn't have a cabin at a lake or a 250 grand truck and 5th wheel to go camping every weekend.

Yeah what a great game. After a subpar year (to put it mildly) on the field for the product, I'm happy the playoffs were so entertaining. Good for the league for sure, and for exposure. I'm sure that wacky play to seal it will make the rounds on ESPN down south.
That's gotta sting for the Tiger-Cats blowing that lead, especially in their own barn like that. Looked for sure like they had it. I didn't really care who won as I don't mind either team, but with the amount of Riders fans in my life right now, and learning just how much they truly hate Winnipeg sports teams (and Winnipeg in general it seems), it's amusing to me how mad they must be that the Bombers have held the title since 2019 lol. So I'm happy about that.
Also, from a longtime Stamps fan's point of view, is anyone a little bitter at how when teams like Winnipeg are the best in the league, they simply win titles and repeat? I'm not going to cry about playoff futility when I've witnessed my team win 6 Grey Cups and play in 12 Grey Cup Finals in my time as a fan, but it's frankly crazy they haven't managed to repeat with how many dominant teams they had in the 90s and 10s. Like why is it so much harder for us to do this when we're the best team?? No-one else seems to have these playoff struggles when they're on top of the league

The 108th Grey Cup between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Hamilton Tiger-Cats drew an average English-language television rating of 2,873,000 on Sunday, which is down 22 percent from 2019.
The game drew an average audience of 821,000 in the key 25-54 age demographic, while an average of 1,502,000 watched in the 55-plus age demographic.

Ouch that sucks. 2019 was already one of the lowest rated grey cups of the last 20 years.

The league really needs to build back interest in the CFL amongst younger people. I'm going to be a CFL fan until either a) the league no longer exists or b) I die, but I'm outside the demographic that needs to be targeted. Some creative thinking is required and I'm just not sure we have the right guy at the helm.

Enjoy the seasons we have left as I have a feeling this may be the last decade of CFL football. A lot of people will blame the pandemic but the reality is that attendance had been declining year over year for a decade and the pandemic is simply accelerating the death of the league. As a Canadian it's very saddening but the league has always been their own worst enemy as owners spent too many decades trying to screw each other over instead of bettering the league to remain viable long term.

i too am a fan on the downside in my mid-50's and i would be disgusted if the CFL went to 4 downs.
i can only speak for my house, but my son - now 19 (who was all in on hockey until he was 17) is not really interested in going to watch games live (even hockey). If I had an extra ticket and need to fill the seat he would likely go, but it seems unlikely he would choose on his own to go.
when i was between 12 and 16 I enjoyed going to game with my dad - I got out of it until my mid-20's and became a fan again. And I seem to have gotten my wife into it enough that she sat and had on eye on the game sunday and did ask questions about how it worked.
i too worry about the long term future of the game and i wish i had some good ideas to offer up, other than trying to find some competitive balance so that teams are competitive.
