Other top men’s teams, skipped by Matt Dunstone (out of Regina) and Mike McEwen (out of Winnipeg), are also expected to split up, with the skips forming new foursomes.

Sources say Dunstone is returning to play out of Manitoba, where he became a Canadian junior champion in 2013 and 2016. Dunstone is reportedly teaming up with B.J. Neufeld, a Manitoban who formerly played as an import with Team Koe, up-and-comer Colton Lott, and Ryan Harnden, an import from Northern Ontario who was formerly the lead with Team Jacobs.

Winnipegger Ryan Fry could also be returning to Manitoba, after years of playing with Ontario’s John Epping, Northern Ontario’s Jacobs and Newfoundland’s Gushue. There’s speculation he will play third with McEwen’s new team.

The sports channels are going to need to invest in ‘New Curling Quadrennial Team Announcement Day’ in the future instead of hoping for exciting trade deadline days. This is compelling stuff.

Though Kevin Martin doesn’t seem to be making friends because of it.

That Bottcher team looks to be really stacked.

They should all change teams again to make Kevin Martin wrong

Epping has announced their team will split, but he and Mat will continue on together. This was a team that never made sense to me. they were wildly inconsistent, doing things like winning the Canada Cup, but also going 1-4 at the Penticton event. They were better when they had Craig Savill on the team.

This is so fun, better than NHL trade deadline.

I echo the comments from the inside curling podcast. Koe is building a team of “quiet” guys who will mostly listen and follow instructions. He won’t have the “noise” he had the last couple of years. Love the comparison of Koe bring in Tardi being similar to J Jones bringing in Kaitlyn Lawes at third.

Botcher’ team is better on paper, but those are big egos with a lot of previous success. Can they work together? A lot of talk about Gallant earning the right to play third. But Kennedy is one of the best at that position.Botcher may have his hands full managing the team rather than focusing on the game.

Seems like there are still lots of dominoes to fall in Ontario and Manitoba.

More problems for Canada on the world stage. 4 games, lost the draw for last rock 4 times. Now losing badly to Switzerland, cant make a shot.

Again, Canadian ice, they can put it anywhere they want. World ice, can't make anything.

Yikes from Einarson against the Swiss. Completely outclassed.

Still early, but Team Einnarson seems intimidated on the world stage. Let’s hope they can pull it together.

Why are Muirhead and Fujisawa not at the Worlds? I tried to search online and had no luck. Seems weird not to have the Olympic Gold and Silver medalists at this event.

Some of the countries selected an "alternate" team for the worlds having sent their best teams to the Olympics. We will see this again for the men's and Team Mouat spoke out a bit against this via Twitter as they will not be going to the worlds either.
