It wouldn't hurt to try. Lindholm could help him down low and on faceoffs too.

Also in that lineup Tkachuk - Backlund - Mangiapane would be our first line.

I did forget all about Coleman back there though.
Honestly Dube looks pretty weak, I question his pull up number.

Might as well just fold the team.

Coleman on pace for 29 points.
1st year of a 6 year deal in which he gets older and older. Turns 30 in two weeks.
Making almost 5 mill.

I think he has been okay, the but length of this deal terrifies me.

Well, no. Nobody has any idea what any of the teams will look like in 2, 3, 5 years.

LA and Anaheim are coming out of their rebuilds?

I'm pretty sure Anaheim hasn't even hit bottom yet.

Eichel hasn't even touched ice, let alone looked like he's found form.

Really reaching for that pessimism narrative, I'd say.

In a bit of a funk right. But that happens and you know what, they’re still earning points and are in a good spot in standings.

This has been a fun season so far and i cant wait for the next game.
I am with you. Much more entertaining hockey this year. Getting points and hanging in their in standings despite a very unfavorable schedule right through rest of November.

Tonight we learned we have a capable backup in Darth and Kylington took a step. Loved his compete and his reaction on both goals (for and against).

So nice to see Kylington out their 3 on 3, finally!

Flames certainly need to get back to winning but its not all bad

all their losses were tied or down by one in the 3rd and they have the 5th best goal differential in the league

Even when not great the Flames are close to winning

All this despite one of the worst schedules in the league

Oilers lost to Buffalo on the 2nd half of a B2B

I wish that the Flames would keep their slower skaters off the ice when it is 3 on 3.

This is not an elite team. They are a middling team and it's going to be a battle to get into the playoffs. The coach has even said it multiple times.

With this thought in mind, the flames have had a decent start and I don't get too disappointed about the 1-point games.

With that said, I wish the flames would make some moves to try and turn themselves into an elite team.

And by the time Eichel players

Tuch, Krebs, and another star player is out of their lineup

Flames looked very tired to start...found their legs somewhere into the second.

The positives:
- Vladar was outstanding
- the checking was generally pretty tight
- they had chances
- Vladar was outstanding (yes, twice)

The negatives:
- transition game was non-existent for the most part except when they went with the track meet mentality
- sloppy puck handling (wow - how many passes can a team of pros bobble in a game?)
- MT was playing?
- SM looked confused most of the game

Ugly win for Toronto and loss for the Flames, but take the point and rest up for Sunday. Another sure-to-be-totally-exciting game.

When was the last time Andersson was instrumental in a 3 v 3 victory?

I don't know why we put him out there. I'd sooner have Gudbranson out there. He moves, and makes good passes.

We don't have a game breaker. Are supposedly elite players turn to ghosts when we need them, Johnny excluded.

Yep, I've heard for 2 decades the Oilers are on the cusp of being a contender

3 rebuilds later they had a good start...get outplayed in at least half of their games

That's like the majority of this team.

Oliver was hit and miss, but that's what you're going to get from him. The odd beauty offensive play, the odd head shaking blunder in his own zone. You just hope the good outweighs the bad at the end of the night. I don't mind it. And after his gaffe he busted his stick over the crossbar, love seeing the emotion.

This team need the top two lines to lead the way with effort, intensity and pace. Have to be far more proactive, and a lot less reactive.

Really need a win Sunday to stop the bleeding and get the pendulum going the other way again.
I think Oliver has great upside. He is showing some flashes of what he could be.

He finished with a beauty goal and a sloppy giveaway that probably cost the team a victory.

All is good in the process of becoming a good defenceman.

I sincerely hope that “consistently great” is on the horizon.

Not there yet!

Carry on Oliver.
