I'm generally a superfan and view everything with rose colored glasses.

My assumption here... is that they must know something I don't? Like... he isn't a dumpster fire because... reasons?

I... don't get it.

If Stone can look decent under Sutter, there's a chance that Gudbranson could... right?

This guy was benched by Ottawa. The team that couldn’t defend but they whipped the Flames.

Treliving must be watching last year

I imagine Tre walking into NHL value village and diving into the bin marked as " bargains o the day# !!!

It's like a giant ball pit and he's dodging other GMS swimming through the balls and resurfacing yelling " LOOK I win AGAIN....wooohoooo"!!!

Well....we either get with it or lose our collective poop 💩 not getting on board.

WElcom to our team....the Calgary FLAMES....N3VER a dull moment.

I think it is highly likely the Blues put Robert Bortuzzo on waivers in the next month to keep Walman, Mikkola and Perunovich on their starting roster. Bortuzzo could play the same depth, physical, right-shot D-man for cheaper.

Jets will have one of Beaulieu, Stanley or Niku on waivers; possibly two of them if Heinola makes the team

Seattle has 12 NHL defensemen. Barring trade, 4 of them will be available on waivers in the next month. Borgen, Cholowski, Lauzon, Carrick, and/or Fleury

There will be better cheaper options soon. I'm fine with Stone and Richardson. This one is a head scratcher

I have felt all summer that the Flames needed, and would sign, another D man.

Straight up, I would prefer Stone to Gudbranson, but I could live with either.

However, with him costing more than $1M more than Stone, I would take Stone all day. Then add the fact that we ALSO signed Stone, and I really don't like this signing at all.

Lou on 960, he'll put us all at ease.

I'm betting Gudbranson is a good guy, good in the room, etc.

Is this the Flames’ way of being a bottom 5 team? All offence, no defence?

As long as they don’t trade that 1st round pick!

Flames owners won't approve a rebuild but Treliving will find a way to bring them there kicking and screaming.

Great individual, I watched him in junior and he was just one of the most dynamic players on the ice. Fans are really going to love this guy, he does it all! Really just a great guy and a great teammate. Love this signing, makes total sense. Great guy.

Is that 8 or 9 one-way contracts on D?

So when Treliving said big moves would be coming this off season, he literally just meant in the size of players.

A one-way contract does not mean they can't be sent down.

There will only be 7 Dmen on the roster, regardless of how many one-way contracts they have.

Yup. This could've been an 11th hour thing if nothing better came around, and chances are, something better would come around.

Edmonton Oiler level of calculation here.
