Yeah...there are a few changes needed but let's be rational here.
What few changes do you think would fix this team?

Needs to get a shutout to win... Markstrom was fine just like last game.

Giving the team a chance to win

Go get some popcorn and shove your face in the bucket. Then pour boiling hot butter over your head like in Game of Thrones.

For real. Making fun of the Oilers, even in past several years since Flames have never amounted to anything save for one season, has lost it's luster cause Flames #### stinks more.

They have been playing bad since all star break 2018/19... and getting worse.

Sutter is definitely NOT the issue.

I wouldn't call any of these comments over reacting this team has completely destroyed even its most diehard fans the team this year is absolutely pathetic and deserves every bit of bashing they are getting

Well at least MotoGP starts this weekend... just in case there are any Spanish or Italian (ex)Flames fans.

The big mistake will be if he plays just well enough to help the team finish 18-24 in the standings over the next three years instead of bottoming out.

Get rid of the GM. He did a great job getting the Western Professional Hockey League off the ground but is in over his head at the NHL level. Then let the NHL GM figure it out.

Treliving missed out by not changing things up 2 years ago or so. He's got no choice now. They are one of the worst teams in the league. No point in holding back on major trades and hoping things just magically fix themselves under Sutter. Just a rotten team right now.
Gulutzan, Peters, and Ward were terrible head coaches. They will never be head coaches in this league again. They were awful hires, and I think they damaged the development of almost every player on the roster.

That said, it’s also very clear that the roster itself is inept.

This isn’t a case of it being just the players or just the coaches. It was both.

Tree fixed the coaching position, but his read of his own roster is tragic. He built a turd, doubled down on it after the loss to the Avs, and then stuck his head in the dirt after that.

Well, on the bright side, the Flames are well-positioned to catch New Jersey and San Jose, and are within striking distance of Ottawa and Anaheim too.

Any injured players - Monahan, Markstrom, whoever has a hangnail - should be sat until they're fully recovered now.

I'm not even sure it was Tree that fixed the coaching position.

It's all part of the process though! Not that he's got a goalie (maybe?) and a coach (forced upon), he can now address the roster finally!

How are you going to win games when your team can only muster one goal a game against the supposed worst team in the division?

Yikes what a dull game, I can not recall seeing the Flames so lifeless type of style.

Next step, GM has to try to move assets.

However my guess nothing happens... until the offseason

No.

Tkachuk, Backlund, Gaudreau, Monahan, Giordano, Lindholm are the ones with the letters. They are getting paid the most. They get the most minutes. These are the players that without question need to step up and perform. Sitting them would be an embarrassment.

Unfortunately this is their mess and they are the ONLY ones who can dig themselves out. They need to own it. If they're a last place team then they're the ones who have to wear that.

I’m still at work, so thankfully I didn’t see much of this game. I guess that’s pretty much it for this season. Hopefully we’ll see significant changes made this summer. This current roster is embarrassing.
