Forecheck game is non existent. CGY minor victories was getting puck out on occassion. If they have sentiment they are playing with house money this game, they got to get rid of that.

Start period 0-0 and this is a must win game. Just be effective in the offensive zone - I don't care if it's dump n chase or carry it in just do something, anything that works and produces some chances.

Well we know one thing....for they’re not meeting Darryl’s stated expectations.....lots of coasting, waving sticks and loosey goosey gap control.....

Cannot capitalize on chances + no sustain pressure in offensive zone = game lost

Well, that was a big yikes. I feel like the Flames don't have a top 6. Three third lines lol

Leafs are obviously desperate, as they've lost 3 straight and 5 of their last 6. Flames played an ok road period, but they're still having issues with turnovers and zone exits. That play by Dube at the blue line was awful. Just put it up the boards and get it out FFS.

I would try any of Leivo, Ryan or Bennett on the Monahan line. I could see not wanting to put the full blender on but Ritchie just does not do much and you need to try to change something on that line.

3 out of the 4 periods against the Leafs have just been putrid on the Flames' part.

Yesterday's 2nd period was the only period that somewhat resembled a good team

Johnny is playing scared, hard for your line to gather any sort of momentum. Only 2 players on the line that will forecheck or back check. He stands as far away from the puck as possible and reaches as far as he can trying to swipe the puck. Instead of just taking 1-2 more strides to actually reach the puck.

Yup no top six.

Can you imagine how we would fare against the likes of Tampa, Boston, Washington, Colorado, Vegas etc?

Our forwards don’t even come close talent wise.

I kinda feel like Ritchie is the only one on that line doing anything. Please not Leivo on that line anymore.

I was OK with that as a road period against a top, desperate team.

Rittich caught leaning a bit and now it's an uphill battle.

Wasn't he in the reverse V-H position as he should have been for that situation? Perfect shot but I believe that's how goalies are coached for that play.

Looking at the goal again, Spezza released the puck a few feet inside the faceoff dot so it might have been a little early for that position transition, but he read that Spezza was skating into the corner so it's a split second decision.

Kevin Bieska has been such a tremendous addition to the panel. He obviously brings the colour, but it feeds onto the other panelist also with the chirps that happen.

Weathered the expected storm pretty well tbh.

Could be a lot worse. Still very well in it despite a desperate leafs team. They'll get their chances.

Carry on with the teeter tottering.. Today's one period conclusions: No top six! Gaudreau a scrub!

Interested to see the headlines next intermission.

Flames need to be a good deal better for the rest of the game.

Lots of slow defenceman to defenceman passes in that period. Saw similar issues in the big loss to Edmonton.

Big period coming up.
