He has done that through out his career. Hughson has said that he does that to reduce the constant monotony of surnames. Gord Miller used to do it too in the past.

CGY has tendency to continue the short passes that they use to come up the ice into the offensive zone. Early in games they need to yes use short passes to get in but then put it on net.

Yeah maybe. The "Henrik" and "Daniel" calls through entire games was admittedly annoying AF when they were around.
