Fan 960 crew talking about how the team is struggling as they figure out how to integrate all the new players.
...every team has new players. Every team. This team signed a defence man who has been good, and a goalie who has been elite. They then signed a bunch of junk and are playing them WAY too much and WAY too high in the line-up.
Tanev integrated well. So did Markstrom. It's difficult to integrate other players that aren't good though.

The coaching staff needs to redo the lines next game.
Gaudreau - Monahan - Dube : Gaudreau and Dube have shown flashes of chemistry and the speed and forechecking is what this line is missing.
Tkachuk - Lindholm - Bennett: If the Bennett benching wasn’t trade related he will come in next game pissed off, we can use that against the Oilers.
Mangiapane - Backlund - Leivo: I didn’t mind Leivo’s game tonight. Backlund has been fine with Mangiapane this year but the second Mangiapane is off his line he becomes a tire fire. Don’t play Backlund and Lucic together ever again.
Lucic - Gawdin - Phillips: if Ryan is out then they should call up the two young guys and put them out there with Lucic as the muscle. Simon and Nordstrom are not the answer and we could use some energy.

I don't want to pile on with negativity but they need to address the fact they make same errors or why personnel deployment is sub optimal. Performance over pedigree or anything else.
Unpopular now but I like this team - I think they have great potential but it is not being actualized. Why? Get down to the heart of it.
It's almost like they aren't being utilized properly as a unit to maximize their abilities...
Treliving has to be absolutely petrified that by getting a NHL coach with a strong resume, that he'll be undermined, and wants to avoid any possibility of a power struggle. But if once again Ward proves to be the third hired coach by Tre that has underwhelming results due to being an underwhelming coach, he would've only undermined himself, and should be shown the door.
