It might not seem it but I’m a half assed Seahawks fan just due to the overwhelming amount of people in my family who cheer for them. I bet them in this game as well. But Russell Wilson is probably the most over hyped QB in the game by a long shot. I also don’t care for Pete much either. I doubt they’ll move off Wilson anytime soon but I think his best days are long behind him. Lately he has the football IQ of a potato.

Russ's hype train is definitely over.

At the same time the team needs a #2 receiver. Ramsey was shadowing DK so your #2 WR should be able to get open. Nowhere to be seen. He had 1054 yards and 10 TDs; Nearly 500 (482 to be exact) and 8 of those TDs came in 4 games, besides that he was invisible.

I wouldn’t call Lockett chump change.

What?

Lockett had 100 receptions (7th in the NFL) and 1054 yards (17th in the NFL). Those are both the highest in the NFL for a “#2” receiver. One of the highest “Catch Rates” in the NFL too, especially for receivers with as many targets as he had.

He was probably the best “#2” receiver in the NFL this year looking at the stats, his numbers are actually on the upper end of #1 receivers.

Maybe it’s Russ that needed to do a better job of finding his other options, and trying to spread the ball around. 11 targets tonight for Metcalfe (5 catches), and 4 targets for Lockett (2 catches).

552 out of Metcalfe’s 1303 yards came in 4 games, not that much different, just how Receiver stats are usually distributed in the NFL.

Well see next week if Rodgers can handle the Rams D.

Most of that production came in those 4 games. Besides that averaged 48 yards a game and had 2 TDs in those other 12 games.

And no he's not a #1 receiver by any means. If he was he would've been treated like one by the opposition.

He's no chump change but if you can ship him out for a 2nd rounder you go ahead and take that.

Who is a better number 2 receiver?

Even at the 48 yards per game which is supposedly bad according to you that works out to a 770 yard season. That would have ranked him 41st in the NFL. Your expectations of what a receiver is supposed to do week to week is flawed.

552 of Metcalfe’s 1303 yards came in 4 games too. Look at the top receivers in the NFL and most of them have a big chunk of their production come in 4-5 games, that’s just how it works.

As somebody else mentioned just giving Russ a pass for what was a bad game. (Some of that on the offensive line too)

Couple blatant miss calls for the bucs. But even then, Washington really doesn’t stand a chance.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think this is the first time that Tony Dungy is doing in game commentary. I really like him working with Mike Tirico. I wouldn't mind if NBC dropped Collinsworth for Dungy next year especially considering that Collinsworth performance really dropped off a cliff this year.

He’s done a few games over the years. First playoff game though

I just saw that Tirico is calling the game remotely as well because of Covid. That makes their interaction tonight even more impressive.

I am really impressed with Heinicke.

This doesn't look like his second start at all. Tough break on the tipped pass for the INT. But other than I really don't know if Washington could have expected much more from him. Really nice to see him step up.

Ha. And of course they call the holding when Washington gets a first down. I know there’s nothing sexy about the football team. But at least give them a fair chance.

And then that weird touchback call. Cmon refs.

Washington giving themselves a look at the win here.

That was a beauty punch on the TO.

Washington has been a decent football team when Haskins hasn't been QB. Heinicke had given up on a football career, but I think he's done enough to at least be on a roster next year. Lots of feel good stories on this WFT that are more than balancing out the bad ones.

Lockett is fine but a clear cut number 2 he is not. Metcalf may have some issues going forward on the mental side about wanting ball all the time, certainly after his display today on the sidelines.

Missing a vet like Baldwin who is a scrapper, and of course they had plans for Josh Gordon to be part of the fold.

A solid running game is already crucial to keep defenses honest and not sure if Carson is going to hold up going forward.

But with so much money spent on the QB position and the power that the player thinks he should wield, is the issue that the team has deal with also try and find good players on the cheap, and has been since he signed his contract in 2019 (2016, really).
