Holloway just a turnover machine. Whole team hasn't been impressive but I really don't like what he's put out tonight.

Is there any way we could see a 4th line this year of Lucic-Zary-Pelletier? Lol. Could be a hell of a way to bring them into the league and they should be rolling right along after the tournament.

Pelletier, too. It is too bad, though. For all the time Holloway has had with McMichael and Cozens, one would think he would be even a little effective in tbe offensive zone by accident.

That would probably imply that Ryan is dealt, which I wouldn't mind because I'm a proponent of infusing the roster with tenacious young players with upside.

Could probably fetch a nice return.

Zary is all over these last few shifts. Pelletier picked off another pass to create a chance.

Zary has been really chippy the last little bit. There’s a little pest in him.

Worried about a 2-0 Canada lead with 7mins left in the 3rd over Czech...worried about democracy in the US with Biden less than 3weeks from inauguration...maybe you're just a worrier. 😉

I don’t think Ryan would fetch us anything... probably be lucky for a team to take him given his contract and the flat cap.

It's just one year; I don't think the cap would be much of an issue since he will be off the books by the end of the season.

[EDIT] And it's not like Ryan is junk. He was the Flames #7-scoring forward last season. He could easily play second-line minutes on several NHL teams.

Czechs playing the trap the entire game until 5 mins left when they pulled the goalie

bold strategy

Im not sure you would find a lot of teams wanting to add 3M to their bottom 6 group at this point.

More than that though, the Flames need him right now IMO. They have already lost 2 of their top 4 PK forwards (TOI PG) from last season. The kids wont be thrust into such roles so that means more SH ice time for a guy like Backlund and elevating another player to full time PK duties which takes away 5 on 5 time from them. Maybe Dube can fill that role but until you know he can, it wouldnt be prudent to use him there at all. The only real other option would be Bennett but im not convinced he is quick enough nor smart enough to do it full time. Also I would be looking to cut back Lindholms PK time if possible and get him more offensive zone time.

I know that Nordstrom will be top dog on the PK moving forward as he is elite at it. So that is one of the empty spots filled. Very under rated signing by BT IMO.

Leivo doesnt kill penalties nor does Simon.

So moving Ryan creates a whole bunch of other issues that im not convinced the coaching staff have answers for at this point. Too many guys they just havent seen in situations to throw them out there and be confident.

Anyone else surprised they didn’t make the new Canada Jersey for women? Went to buy one for my wife and it doesn’t exist. All these ads about growing the game?

Away from the puck, the team was mostly A+ hockey. With the puck it's hard to give them a C. This was "Ds get Degrees" territory of winning.
