That was interesting about the canucks flames line brawl
They talked a bit about it at intermission, I'd heard the mcgratton being the reason it didn't get further with tortorella trying to get into the flames room
But never heard bieksa say, he was trying to be peacemaker stepping into the faceoff dot, said he knew westgarth, they had just had beers in Nashville a few weeks earlier when both teams happened to be in Nashville
Interesting choice to put Bishop back in. They keep testing him in net, so I guess they are hoping he may be just about ready to take over again. They wouldn't bother taking Khudobin out otherwise.
If Bishop can get back to his regular game shape during this series, that would be an interesting twist.

It's Oettinger in net, not Bishop.

This third period is a good example of all teams sitting back on a 3-0 lead in the third period. We've seen it before with the Flames and hear questions around why the Flames do this when the really good teams, like Vegas, never do. Vegas doesn't have a shot yet in the third and it's 10 minutes in.

Really? I recall the talk of Bieksa being the peacemaker was talked about as soon as it happened.
But Bieksa's actions always seemed so dumb to me as he didn't actually help the rookie out.
He didn't want Westgarth to fight the rookie, Kellan Lain, so he stepped up to take the faceoff. But he refused to fight Westgarth, and instead chases down Smid... leaving Westgarth to fight Lain anyways.
Here's McGrattan talking about it:

Bieksa also gave a story in the first intermission about starting games the right way and how Bowness used to show him clips of Iginla's first shifts.

He hasn't been tested much, but Lehner looks very solid. His style is very calm, which would make watching Flames games much less stressful compared to the styles we've had the last while.
This series has the potential to be good. I'm not so sure about the other one.
Anyway, tonight Robin Lehner posted his 4th shutout of the playoffs, after posting 3 in the Vancouver series. In history, one goalie (Brodeur) has posted 7 in a single playoffs. One goalie (Hasek) has done six shutouts. Three more have done five.
Lehner becomes the 18th guy at 4, and he has lots of time left to move up the standings. He's done it in just 11 games, which is the fewest since 1952. Every goalie to do it more than 4 times took at least 20 games to get there.

But Flames goalies sometimes get tested too early.
