Two teams that many Flames fans "wanted" in the playoffs of round 1. Maybe it's because the Dallas series was more recent but I'd prefer Colorado to move on.

Is that all it was? Are the Avs pushovers too?

Dallas is mentally strong.

Do you not challenge for goalie interference now? I mean..he hammers the goalies pads across the line doesn’t he?

Yep, I don't think that should be the takeaway but I would certainly feel better, perhaps naively, if Dallas dismantled Colorado.

Strange. No way the ref saw that so was just going off the reaction. Only Lindell will ever know for sure if it was in. Good acting if it wasn’t.

Since the call on the ice was a good goal, won’t they need definitive proof it wasn’t, and not vice-versa to flip the call?

I think there are a couple of takeaways to me:

1) It’s a super fine line between winning and losing in the playoffs and momentum can swing quickly.

I look at Washington a couple years back coming back from 3-0 down, and even St.Louis last year who were I think a post away from losing to Dallas in round 2 game 7. Winning the Stanley Cup playoffs is the finest of lines at all times and most winning teams have at least one series that’s a close scare.

2) Being battled tested and experience does matter come playoff time

I look at the Flames last year and it happened to them. They had a pretty easy season and Colorado had to scratch and claw down the stretch, once it came to playoffs the Flames just couldn’t get out of first gear while the Avs where already in 5th.

This year it seems to be happening to Colorado. Dallas had a tough battle with the Flames, and they found that never quit attitude and some confidence. Colorado kind of had an easy qualification round, and then a cake walk against the Coyotes. But now that the competition stepped up a level they can’t find that extra gear.

Yup, would have needed conclusive evidence the puck wasn’t in since the call on the ice was a goal.

Avs probably should have challenged for goaltender interference since the pad was pushed in though.

If the Avs manage less wins against Dallas than the Flames (who were seconds away from a stranglehold) then there will be excuses for this club's playoff fate, however credible.
