At some point the NHL could reschedule the late game. It's not like they have to worry about ticketing or unhappy crowds.

I still remember the Hrudy game. Was watching the 1st period during dinner in Chinatown. Drove 3.5 hours to St. Albert in a snowstorm and still watched another period and a half.

It's not even in modern era yet but I think they need to play about 15min more for it to be. Then there's some game played in 1933 that's still longer.
