That really was foreshadowing - Lucic pummelled Beaulieu then the third line took over from there and pummelled then on the ice. Bennett had at least 3 huge hits (2x Pionk, Eakin).

Flames dominated the series and I’d say I didn’t think Gaudreau, Gio, or even Tkachuk really were at their best.

Talbot was a beast. Lucic-Bennett-Dube changes the complexion of the team and is a perfect playoff line, we found a fourth line, and then the top 6 just outplayed the Jets top 6.

Jets just looked done with the playoffs by the end of the series. Flames had beat them up physically and they didn’t look like they wanted to be there anymore. Just looked physically defeated.

AC - we need a compilation of all of Bennett’s big hits from the series.

Wow, the Flames are the first team out of the West through to the next round, which pundits would’ve guessed that after the exhibition round. Good on this Flames squad, they showed resilience, they showed killer instinct, they showed commitment and they showed passion.

Lucic-Bennett-Dube line were monsters tonight and for most of this series. This was the Lucic I was hoping we’d get. Didn’t see he and Bennett necessary having a ton of chemistry, but I’ll take it. First line showed up, Monahan had a strong final 2 games, Talbot was very solid, top 4 D looked good, the Backlund line was unbelievable every game this series which has as my main key going into this series.

Now on to the next round which is the real test. This was the appetizer, the next few weeks will be the main course. So hopefully this team doesn’t feel like they’ve achieved anything yet.
