I think it is more to do with injury risk in a round-robin which only impacts seeding.

I get that, but you just have to look at Ryan and Backlund as an example of trying to go 0 to 60 right off the bat.

Looks like Bouwmeester is officially on the “will not play” list as was to be expected.

Brent Seabrook is dropping out of the return to play. He says he isn't ready to go physically and will sit out until next season.

Not a huge surprise there, he had season-ending surgery a few months ago and was doubtful to play in the play-ins.
