Y’all are nuts. The Flames need more Terry Cahill, not less.

The “awoooo” is far less cringy than the goal songs for specific players. I want to die when they play that stupid Bingo was His Name-o song for Gio.

Does anyone, AC, have the Lucic shenanigans with Lindgren? Thanks.

I actually vaguely remember that game. I Believe Fuhr tried to shoot the puck past Bozek who chased a loose puck, he cut it off with his body against the boards and was able to go behind the net and do a wrap around before Fuhr could get back in the net. Unless I’m mistaken, which is possible since at first I thought it was Berezan who scored the goal.
Funny, I remember it as a breakaway from their own blueline after a bobble or blocked shot, but i would not wager a dime being right on that either.

I do, however, remember exactly where I watched that game. I had been to the game the previous night ( at least i think it was) against the Oilers. I knew there was some really bad blood boiling between the two (not at all unusual back then but this was another level) and wanted to see what would happen. A lot of games were not on regular TV in those days so a bunch of us would hunt down a place with satellite and get faced watching hockey.

At this particular time I was chasing/dating a beautiful young lady who worked at a place called The Prairie Dog Inn on 17th ave sw, (now known as Buon Giorno) and they had these huge (for the time) 31" TVs in one section. Worked about a 1/2 block away where the Best Buy now sits and we were in the basement below Bernard Callebauts very first shop in Calgary. (Bernie was a great guy but I digress). So thats where I spent that night watching.

The hatred between the teams and fans was seriously off the charts. ANY goal against the Oilers at that time was jump out of your seat screamin, fist pump, worthy. That Bozek goal though was a big one and of course the club won it as well. Flames were a very very good team those days but Edmonton was always just a bit better with that murderers row of future HOF guys and they had a bunch of intimidators as well.

Strange how some things just stick with you forever.

I think we can all agree that the A/V for Flames games is just terrible. I go to maybe 5-10 games a year and I don't know how the STH stand it. Same PP song for how many years. Corny player goal songs that have been the same for years. Same slate of songs every single GD game. They've flogged the living daylights out of "Raise a Little Hell", find some new songs! There's been new music produced in the last 25 years. Granted I've never been to an NHL game anywhere else but talking to buddies who have gone to LV, Nashville, even Edmonton say it's night and day compared to what we have to put up with at the Saddledome.

Also, look at those penalties to start the game!
Lol, 60 penalties!! One per minute of the game. Is this the decade they started to have 4 lines so they would have enough players on the bench to be able to play / finish the games ? Haha!

Some of them are 2 minutes for roughing, and then another 5 minutes for fighting just send them off for 7 minutes when there was just under 7 minutes of game time remaining. Man, if anyone has a video of this game it would be fun to watch. How do you get multiple game misconducts 28 seconds into the game? I think the entire lines got removed to start the game lol.

Hakan Loob in the playoffs against the Oilers!!! I think it was in 86 in the Hall of Fame Steve Smith series.

Oh i was mistaken. He scored on a 4 on 3. https://www.hockey-reference.com/box...604200EDM.html

The most surprising thing about that boxscore is that the Oilers scored 6 goals, and Gretzky had just 1 assist and was -3.

He did a bit too much coke off Fuhr's pads during the 1st intermission.

While I generally agree, Nasvhille plays Party Up by DMX every time they have the powerplay, and it's pretty cheesy. I do like their "sucks!" and "he sucks too!" chants when they introduce the opposition players though.

Yeah it’s definitely stale. I like a few of the new things this year like the Usher Cam but they need to come up with some better stuff for sure.

AC/DC is great but do we really need them to be our opening music and goal song?

Go to vegas, Edmonton and Nashville 41 times a year and it'll be exactly the same issues. The big difference is the on ice projection and jumbotrons blow ours out of the water. We know those won't be replaced until the new arena tho.

Steinberg via twitter found that the last 5 on 3 SH goal the Flames got was actually in 1999 vs the Canucks. The heart of the dark years.

Cassels from Brathwaite with Shantz and Steve Smith in the box in the first period.
Garth Snow in net for the Canucks, they brought Kevin Weekes in for the third.

Only good one is Johnny's. Gio's absolutely the worst, and needs to stop now

I’m pretty sure Nieuwendyk scores SH on 5 on 3, in 1990, and if I’m not mistaken he scored twice short handed in that game.
