Aurora Business Park at 96th Avenue N is large enough for a maintenance yard.

But picking the direction of the Green Line based on the ideal location of for a maintenance yard, versus the higher ridership and bus capacity constraints of Centre Street N, is the tail wagging to the dog

Agreed. I'm a life long fan and we have had season tix in our family since the very first game at the Corral v. Les Nordiques.

If this passes I will be 100% behind the team moving. And who knows I will probably leave town myself.

Is it really an ideal location if you haven't secured the land and ROW's in the North yet?

Sneaky timing with all the Flames are dealing with. A percent of the focus is taken away from this because of the Peter's scandal.

No chance it's happening, I dont think the city wants the kind of poop storm that will co.e with backing out after a decade + of this arena stuff.

Flames have always been an oil patch toy. No surprise to me if they pack up and leave town when the wells are dry.

The city has been dealt a cruel hand by Kenney for partisan reasons and they should call his bluff

This is political gamesmanship.

The province will delay Green Line funding until a more UCP-friendly municipal government is elected in 2021. They're already assembling a slate and raising money.

The City should kill a deal negotiated in good faith (and ratified) with a major Calgary stakeholder to call Kenney's bluff?

You have posted a fair bit today. Might want to take a time out.

If you built the entire thing as a BRT you could avoid this problem.

The Flames cannot just pack up and leave town.

If this passes I'll be moving out of this city! I pull big weight around here.

Reconsideration of a motion shouldn’t be allowed absent a change in facts on the ground. I suppose funding cuts might count but as a first step you should have to prove that its a material change to the original application.

oOoOoOoOoOoOoO scary!

The Atlanta Thrashers did not just pack up and leave town either. Their owners lost 160 million over six seasons previous, they were sold, then had to get approval from the NHL board of governors to move. The Flames make over 100million , are a successful franchise and won't be approved.

Factor in the 650million expansion fee the league would miss out on if they just moved a franchise instead of pushing for a new one, which is what they're dong.

Let Bettman and the owners puff up their chests. I put as much stock into it as Wexit.

Yes, because Houston wouldn't be a goldmine for the NHL. I would bet the house if the Flames don't get a new arena and they want to relocate to Houston, Bettman approves it so fast your head will spin.

I want the new arena, but I think the green line is the more important piece of public infrastructure. This will be an interesting debate
