I wonder if, with a new coach, we see the return of the purple Gatorade

Flames have never coughed up decent doh to hire a competent coach that I ever recall let alone GM. so who knows unless Ward does a great job rest of year and his to loose

Give Ward the interim tag, there should be lots of options next spring.

Would love to see Jon Cooper here if he gets the axe from Tampa.

I doubt Burke would have come here on the cheap (response to your claim they never pay for management)

who needs a head coach, Maybe we should hire a full team of psychologists for these young fragile minds

I personally don't want to see Darryl Sutter behind the bench. Go with an interim guy for the remainder of the season. See who is available in the off-season after teams do their round of requisite firings.

The next coach should be a decent human being who knows his hockey tactics and how to motivate his players to buy into his game plan without being harmful... also, one who coaches the Flames to a Stanley Cup Championship... or a few.

If we do need a new coach, I would go with someone who is maybe willing to "take the leash off" a bit.

It seems this team plays its best when they start pushing the envelope and take some risks. We play the best in the third period/OT, times when it seems they are willing to be a bit more creative or take that extra chance to get the goal. Perhaps if we moved to a more offensive driven mindset, this would take advantage of the skill set of our forwards more?

I don't understand why a coach can't be stern or a hardass but not a bully? Obviously they exist.

Make Ward interim coach and see who is available in the off season. Probably too few choices right now.

One would have to think Ward gets the reigns for the rest of the year at least. Gives the Flames a test drive with him and to see if the team responds better under him. If not, they got the summer to hunt.

That'd be something if everyone here says bring back Sutter and the next thing you know, Tre brings back all of them! OK, who's on first!

When they hired Darryl, he was one of the highest paid coaches at that time, and Burke was paid more than most GMs to be PoHO.

The players did not like Bob. There was a reason he was turfed.
