He's been okay, not great. I think he's been more useful than Jankowski but it's hard to say. I'm willing to give both of them a few more games before calling to the heavens.

I think he is earning his 700k. He's playing good as a 4th liner, couldn't ask for much more. His PKing abilities have given us some chances.

I like Rieder as a #13 guy, not an everyday player. I would rather see Dube in the lineup. But Dube doesn't require waivers, and that is the nature of the business.

In his first game I thought that he could skate alright. Then the next couple of games I thought that he was really useless and wasn't as fast as I thought. Then last night I thought his speed was very impressive but he didn't know what to do with it.
I have pretty much decided that he isn't going to be very good. I don't think he has hurt the team but he isn't exactly going to help the team either.

His cute little saucer pass he tried on that PK to Brodie that got knocked down and sent a 2 on 1 the other way nearly gave me a heart attack.
Other than that I've found him to be rather unspectacular in a good way. Good PK, won't hurt you, simple things right. I really am cheering for him to score

I thought Reider played his best game, other than the turnover on the pk, as a flame last night. Question I have is why are we crapping on him when he makes 700k. Looking at the cap this is what you live with when you refuse to part ways with Frolik. His 1 goal and minus 7 more an issue
I also felt czarnik played one of his best games as a flame. Great call by Peters to move him up when Frolik missed that tap in. Maybe it won't last but I wonder how many from this summer who were against moving frolik for next to nothing are now complaining about depth guys like stone or reider being on this team? Frolik deal this summer fixes that and probably gets dube a call too

I don't think Raymond's skating and stickhandling changed much between Vancouver and Calgary, just his production.

what I remember on the Flames was he fell down every shift and lost the puck under zero pressure because his coordination was gone. His shot was still there and his speed too, though

I'll be honest, sometimes I forget Rieder's in the line-up and I couldn't tell you off hand how many games he's played this year. Not really adding much so far

I like him, but honestly I wouldn't be upset if Quine keeps llaying well and sticks over Reider

Well, he's been better than Jankowski this year so far. Low bar though.

I've come to the realization that Rieder reminds me a lot of Ryan at the beginning of last year. Very low-event player, decent on the PK but pretty irrelevant at 5v5, generally speedy and smart but sometimes makes baffling decisions with the puck.
Hopefully Rieder turns a corner and becomes the player he used to be in Phoenix.

Rieder is fine as the 12/13th forward. His speed makes him less of a liability that other options. Also, he is only 26 so it's not really a case of an experienced veteran getting a roster spot over a younger player.

The funny thing is that I rebooked at his numbers. The year he came in he had 12 goals and 23 points in 59 games. That’s PPG better than a lot of Flames in the bottom six last year, maybe all except maybe Ryan.

Raymond had a hot start, including a hat trick against the Oilers, but he got hurt early and was never the same.

Except Raymond didn't play in the bottom six all the time...he was an offensive weapon on that team sadly. PP time and top six minutes
