Maybe this should just become (and be correctly renamed) the general style police thread. I can see value in that personally.
On a general fashion note, is it just me or has everyday fashion not really changed all that much in the last 15 years? When I compare pictures of myself and family from 1990 to 2005, the difference in clothing is drastic. But when I look at pictures from 2005 compared to now the disparity is pretty small. Clothes were a bit baggier, but that's it. Looking at old Youtube videos from the mid 2000's seems to back this up, none of the guys in this video would stand out too much wearing the same stuff today

Yeah.... I mean that video just shows that most Americans dressed like #### in 2006, as they still do now.
But I agree, there has been a weird lull in men's fashion the last decade or so. My theory is that men's fashion actually changed quicker than the norm between 1960 to 2000. We're probably seeing a trend of going back to the basics now, ie. Well fitted clothing, natural materials, well constructed classic shoes, well matching, masculine colours.
If you infringe upon fashion regulations do the Fashion Politburo show up and pants you at your place of employment in front of friends and co-workers and prospective dates to be openly and soundly ridiculed?

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

No, because that would just openly and soundly cause waves of impressedness to occur...
This is OK. My suggestion though would be to go with something shorter than 11 inches. On most men anything between 7-9 inches looks best. There's also the option of getting them tailored/hemmed the way you can get your regular pants hemmed. There's also nothing that screams "I work in retail" more than black pants. Avoid black pants at all costs. Contrary to popular belief, black absolutely doesn't go with everything. For example, black and brown is a big no no. Black and Navy looks weird. Black and White is ok sometimes, black really only looks good with grey, but grey also looks good with any other colour.
If you want something dark but versatile, go for navy or grey.
The shoes are ok. The socks don't look like truly no show socks. It's hard to say though.
Crap, I didn't even think about length-variance; I was more concerned about making sure the girth was good. (couldn't resist)
I'm worried that I got the wrong socks too, tbh. I don't think they'll be low enough for those shoes, but will that matter? Like can you have a little bit of sock showing?

Meh... A bit of sock showing isn't my thing. I guess with shoes like that, and grey socks, it's not the worst look out there. Gauge it when it all arrives and see if you need to get new socks.

But also on this note (since my beloved Tan is all about the French Tuck) if any guys are stuck in that “I want to look good but I don’t know what goes with what” then just watch a few episodes of Queer Eye, especially if you can find episodes with someone that has a similar body type as you. Tan’s recommendations are usually very good and are well-catered to the type of guy who wants to look good but doesn’t want to look overdressed or put too much effort in. Very easy, accessible choices.
Just ignore the parts where Antony is being dumb and smelling avocados.
I've tried the french tuck and my wife says it looks good fine even though it felt odd the first few times trying it.
I love how Tan can make over a guys closet and still have it be true to what the person feels is their style and what they feel comfortable in.
you're right in you can't lose by taking fashion tips from Tan.
and while Antoni is pretty goofy, (his losing it over a corgi was pretty funny) in my opinion he's the hottest of the 5

This thread would not have been possible on CP only 3 years ago. It was only through my blood, sweat, and being twice banned that I pushed the Overton Window to making a Style Police thread a 7 page masterpiece.
Corsi even referenced his John Lobb shoes. What is a guy who can afford Lobb doing on a Calgary Flames messageboard?

Hmmm.... Nice shoes, I'm sure they're worth every single penny of the $2400 price tag. For now, I'll just stick with my Church's and Allen Edmonds over here like a cretin.
