Red Mile was good for the latter half of Detroit series when it started up.
San Jose game 6 maybe that’s it, because they won, but even then you saw more then a fair share of people who were down there more excited at the ability to be able to drink and smoke weed openly outside, and, guys with no hint of a Flames fan affiliation, there simply to oggle and egg on the ladies who were exposing themselves.

2004 was only "organic" until mid-way through the Detroit series. After that, it was certainly commercialized, monetized and premeditated.
Who cares if people gathering are hard-core or casual fans? It's good for business and good for the City.
2019 has the potential to be big on the Red Mile - more people live in Calgary now, and social media is far more prevalent.
Play safe!

It started, and was most awesome, in the first round when it was spontaneous and organic.
It got bigger with each game, and really took off in the Detroit series, but it was awesome from the very first game.

It’s more so that every uniformed officer will have body worn cameras now. Not just the designated few who were evidence gathers, etc. with handheld camcorders.

Flames gotta give us another real Red Mile for those of us just slightly too young to enjoy it the first time. I'm still a twenty something for now. Not much of a partier, but I'd make the trip down to the pubs on game nights to take it in. As a fan, it's something I could use in the ol' highlight reel while still young enough to partake.
Make it happen boys!

Pre-emptive FOIP request for any, and all, body cam footage of boobies?

Oh I can’t even imagine what debauchery will be captured. Maybe CPS can release a montage after.

Admittedly we only made it to the 2nd round, (and only won one game in that round) but the Red Mile in 2015 was notably tamer than the 2004 version. Back then you had people taking grainy pictures with flip phones and putting them on the internet, (RIP ###########.com) but that was before the advent of the smartphone-fuelled, instant communication Snapchat/instagram/Facebook world we live in now. There was still a perceived element of anonymity and maybe naïveté that one’s actions existed only in the moment. I think modern social media has forever changed that, along with the #metoo movement and the rise of feminism. Things that had been “all in good fun” in 2004 were heavily criticized in 2015. I’m sure there will still be some drunken debauchery going on down there but I’d be surprised if it is anywhere near the scale of 2004.

Yeah I definitely don’t disagree times have changed...debauchery in the literal sense was probably the wrong word. I just think the events in an average weekend night that body worn cameras would capture a fair bit of ridiculousness....this is just that on steroids.

I was lucky enough to be at a great age when 2004 occurred. I was 20 years old and was living in residence at UofC for the first round of the playoffs. There were so many B.C. kids there cheering for Vancouver and it was such a heated series. There was a game the night before BSD I recall (brutal weather that year). During the second round I moved into an apartment in Kensington with a buddy and a group of us would always hop on the train after the game and go down to the red mile. We were at some crappy bar on 17th (Points?) when they beat the wings in game 6.
It was the best time and really what made me become the fan I am today. I was able to see 2 games against the Canucks in the first round that year in the sport chek zone. This year I plan to be in the building every game and am hoping for another spring I will never forget!

I want a car. Chicks dig the car.

Yes. There's a special. Buy 2 flags and receive a 2017 Civic SI.
Haha sorry for the deadpan humour..it doesn't translate as well online.

As long as it's a photo from a webpage url (such as a image hosting website like imgur), and not directly from your computer's hard drive.
i.e.
Putting http://i.imgur.com/OdK6KWu.jpg in the [IMG] tag will show the photo.
