Man, things were looking pretty damn bleak after the 2nd. But good on the team for snapping out of their funk in the 3rd, putting the hammer down, and playing the way we know they can. That was a hell of a period by pretty much everybody on the ice.

Goaltending still concerns me a little, and there are clearly some things to clean up in regards to our D-zone play. But these guys definitely have it in them to be a real contender this year. Hopefully the team can get all cylinders firing in time for the playoffs, including both goalies.

happy for the win and the two points, but great to see the Flames show some resilience and seeing the top line explode was thrilling

Will Nault @Fan960Nault
Bill Peters confirms that Sean Monahan was removed early in the 3rd period courtesy of concussion protocol. Obviously with the player returning, everything will be fine long-term. #Flames

According to gamescore this was the best game of the year by a player.

Prediction. If the Flames score 9 per game they will finish first.

That was an awesome third period, and the penalty shot goal by Johnny was great, thought for sure he was going to go for the deke and miss. Loved the lack of mercy at the end, with the relentless attacking. Wanted 10 lol. Great game.

Have to say I called that one. It may be poor form in some circles to run up the score but I love it.... when it’s in our favour!

Just finished watching. Fun third period and nice for the top line to build some confidence. Those are some crazy skills.

I was not happy after two, that's for sure. Some brutal giveaways and brain farts against an awful team. Not sure how you dress Brodie for the next game. And while Gio had some nice plays, overall not a great game for him either.

They got the W though and that's what counts the most. Thanks for nothing Jets.

Boy did the top line really need that game. Congrats to Gaudreau for his historic night. He’s been all around it lately an offensive explosion seemed imminent. Hat trick, 6 point game, career high in goals and points, 90 point mark for the first time. Hopefully they just bottle this up for the final stretch.

Sharks beating Winnipeg was a tough one though. We’re going to need to do the same Saturday now to keep up. New Jersey was ripped for the picking and they played hard for their lineup, so I don’t put much stock into this one. Team definitely has to be better defensively going forward.

NHL Public Relations @PR_NHL
The @NHLFlames are the only team to record multiple nine-goal outings this season (also Dec. 4 at CBJ).

The 2018-19 campaign is the 14th season in franchise history in which they have done so and first since 1991-92 (3x). #NHLStats #NJDvsCGY

That was just a fantastic take by Johnny to get the breakaway for his PS. And he was shooting from the get go on it and Blackwood could do nothing about it.

Super happy Flames were able to come back. I did not see that third period coming at all. Fun game to watch after all is said and done.

But I stand by my comments in the gdt. The first forty minutes were not good hockey against a team that had half their guys injured, so it was basically an AHL team. Flames aren't going to be able to do this regularly against good teams in the playoffs. The defensive breakdowns have been terrible.

Rittich's pay has been real hot and cold lately. He makes a lot of good saves, but at the same time seems to have a lot of brain farts. I don't like him playing the puck. His indecision with it results in him turning it over often. Plus, some real weird ones have been going in on him that I don't like.

There is still time to work things out, but they have to be better overall.
