Here's the scenario. Its 4-2. We should be going on the power play. That's the reality. I can't say a whole lot more then that. "

Even better statement than I was anticipating. He nailed it.

Powerplay Quarterback
|
Awesome game to watch, top to bottom.
One thing I noticed in particular, Lindholm seemed to play with an extra edge tonight. He had that one battle in the 2nd in their zone in the corner, playing straight nasty, ala Peter Forsberg. Love it.

Not sure who is crazier, Lou for making his team switch hotels or fans in here grasping at the stat sheet to try and push this bizzar Smith was no good agenda.

I'm hearing reports that the Calgary Flames have now set up autograph sessions at every major hotel in Calgary. Lou Lamoriello has arranged for the players to stay at an Airbnb in Okotoks.
Edit: My sources are now telling me that they've booked an Airbnb unit with only one bed, which is reserved for Lou himself. Players are being advised that they should purchase air mattresses at a nearby Canadian Tire if they require bed-like accommodations.
Although there are reports that some veteran players are upset with this turn of events, Mathew Barzal has commented that this could be the funnest sleepover of the year.

its really about consistency for Czarnik
he's a talented player, but consistency is what separates guys on the bottom 6 from guys in the top 6.
Which is fine - Czarnik was a guy that we were hoping to bring some offensive upside...while you'd like him to do that every game, if he's able to chip at a 0.5 clip, that's a big win for the bottom six.
Saw a lot from him tonight to be honest...hoping he is able to continue... what i like about him more than Neal is that his speed really puts the other team on their heels... If Neal isn't able to get his one timer back, he doesn't add very much on the ice as it sure seems like he's lost half a step imo

I would rather lose a 31 year old Backlund off this roster than 24 year old Kylington. Outstanding game from #58.
Smith was huge, and a large part of the Islanders only having 12 shots with 9 minutes to go in the 3rd. This was as good as I've ever seen him handle the puck.

This is what I'm talking about. I love Czarnik's speed. It's his commitment to scoring that I question sometimes - going to tough areas, etc. He's done it way better lately. If he somehow becomes consistent at it, he will be a huge asset - like a trade deadline acquisition.

Certainly one of those games where the stats do not tell the whole story. He was quite good (especially in the 3rd) and his outlet passes were superb tonight.
There's a reason Brodie was benched for a while. He was the real reason for those 2 goals.

If the editor can photoshop the mascots heads out photos, they can surely adjust the cropped heads so that there isn't vertical distortion.
But I digress.
