Tkachuk tried his casual flip into the top corner, Markstrom gloved it.
Monahan did something different. He usually comes in and disguises his shot then picks the top corner, or pump fakes and gets the goalie to go down before roofing it.
Shootouts are so frustrating, what an awful way to end a game.

I hope they get it out of their systems now. A good final stretch and playoffs definitely matters more.

Yeah. There were a few games before the all star break where the Flames won when they probably didn't deserve to, now the opposite is happening.
Hockey is wild, wild stuff, man.

Oh, well. When a goalie is that damn hot, you take what you can get.

It's time for the flames to stop messing about now with goalies. Bring in an Nhl quality starter, we are losing games because goalies and it will cost us in the playoffs

Again 3 vs 3 and SO do NOT exsist in the playoffs.
In playoff eyes we have 1 loss and 2 games we could have won in playoff rules.
Hard time seeing the panic. Sorry.

Scott Oake is a complete train wreck. Can’t believe this idiot has a job in 2019.

I’m not one to think that I know better than an NHL coach, but for the love of god, why is Neal being ud in the shootout?! It’s not like he’s lighting it up and proving he can be relied on in such a critical time.

Ridiculous comment. Rittich is 20-4-0 this year and is currently one of the top 10 goaltenders in the league.

If this is what a slump looks like I’m ok with it.

Another stolen game by the opposition goaltender. Markstrom and Jones both stealing games for their teams. Hopefully the Flames can bump the slump soon because San Jose is not too far behind.

May be because during practice they were shooting 5-hole on Smith and they scored every single time?

Bad take. Flames had ample chance to win tonight, which included a 4 min PP. Rittich was fine, game is not squarely in him by a long shot.

Two games ago? 34 saves on 37 shots.
Rittich was outplayed tonight, but I suspect a lot of that perception that he was outright bad is carryover from the previous game.

I hate that team.

They're as disgraceful at winning as Oilers fans, just in a slightly different, more brash, and audaciously stupid way.
Both teams sucking as long as possible is in the best interest of everyone and hockey.

I'm guessing when the Flames practices the shootout, Neal scores. But it's obviously not working this year when it counts.
But we need to find someone else that can score in the shootout, especially someone that will deke as Monahan and Tkachuk are shooters for the most part. I'd rather see someone like Lindholm, Backlund (he's at least had some breakaway success recently), Jankowski, Kylington, or Mangiapane.

As mentioned earlier, Neal all time is at at 34% success rate, and on the Flames, only Monahan has a better career percentage, and Neal has been used before this sesson. Johnny thinks to much on breakaways, and had one already.

Yeah I honestly think in a playoff series the Flames wouldn't have toyed with them like they did at times in this game. We put a lot of c-grade shots on net after great setups.
As soon as they'd smell blood from Markstrom in a series (after doing their homework on him beforehand) they'd exploit the Canucks for the mediocre and inexperienced team that they are, and it wouldn't be pretty. It would be alike the Ducks against the Flames in 2015.
