I think they will get it done in time.

And it was confirmed that we won't be getting Ovechkin as he has to sit out our game (first game back after the all star game) because he's suiting up against Toronto.

Wasn’t there some stat about teams that have played overseas in the preseason. Like a high percentage have had really great seasons? I could have it backwards, and it could be that many of them have followed up with a terrible season, but I swear I remember someone saying there had been a correlation

I predict a tame ATL. Hurricanes have to be happy with the effort, but a little cheesed at the result. Oilers are in the full fetal position, and have given up on criticizing the Flames.

Sloppy game, tired team. Hope they take some good time to relax, regroup and get ready for the sprint to the finish line. Hugely exciting and enjoyable season so far!!

GFG!!

Only one other season in @NHLFlames franchise history has witnessed the club reach the 70-point mark in fewer games: 50 GP in 1988-89, en route to capturing the #StanleyCup. #NHLStats #CARvsCGY

Just checked and it looks like there's no ATL on the Oiler board. I can't begin to guess why.

Thought Carolina looked really good through 2 periods and they totally shutdown Flames top line. They certainly dominated shots and shot attempts and just had the puck most of the time.

But then Flames dominated the last 10 minutes as if they were down a goal, and were unlucky not be up by 2 or more. Flames got hemmed in at end of a long shift and boom the game is tied.

All in all, OT is a just result for that game. The top line can’t dominate every single game after all.

Flames missed some tap ins but then Carolina had a few posts. I thought it was a pretty enjoyable game after a slow start.

Oh and why is the top of page 1 dominated by Oiler threads after a Flames win?

Strange game. Stats looked like Canes outplayed the Flames, but felt like Canes were lucky to even get a point. Flames the whiffed on sure goals on 3 separate occasions that could have easily made this a 6-1 game for the Flames.

The Flames playoff number is down to 22 Calgary Games, I enjoy the countdown.

Van/Dal/Col all play eachother twice, so at best 9th place will be at 114pts now.

Was at the game today while I was in town. I thought they were lucky to come away with 2 points. It felt like Peters channeled his inner GG, and didn't change things up, even though they struggled for 2.5 periods. The third was better in some parts, but in all honesty, if the Canes could actually aim and shoot, the game would have been over. Far too many grade A chances in the slot.

I thought it was a really sloppy game. No flow, passes not crisp, lazy, and apprehensive.

Don't get me wrong. I'll take the 2 points and be happy, but the Flames cannot be happy with how they played.

Carolina really is the "eye test" for some of the advanced stats narratives.

They shot from everywhere and anywhere, but their 1st goal was an own deflection and Hanifin had another close call, but they generated almost nothing else of actual danger.

The Flames had almost no shots through 40, yet could have easily been up 4-1.

Top line was mostly "shut down" Jhonny should have had a goal and an assist. (Gio won't miss many of those and he also missed a tap-in himself)

Lindy assists on the game winner with a HUGE faceoff win...The opening faceoff in OT is massive.

Pretty fugly game by the flames, lots of gliding by a lot of players. Credit the canes, they played really hard.

Much earned break. What year so far!
