That seems weird to me - is it based on exit polling? When you look at the new york times model the Democrats are winning all the house seats they are supposed to for the most part which would give them a pretty sizeable lead and the tossup seats are about 50-50.

In what bizarro world do the Dems lose both house and Senate but Beto wins.

Annnd back up to 4/7 Dems. Methinks Nate made the model prone to wild swings for the dramatic effect.

Ok, now 538 has it back to 4/7 for the Dems (57% to the GOP's 42).
So weird.

Anyway I think Nate Cohn has become much better on election night than Silver, and it sounds like it'll be tight and gerrymandering could save the day yet again.

The hand wringing has begun in earnest on PBS. Gillum looking like he’s gonna blow the Florida governor’s race, Scott looking good for the senate seat, Kemp’s voter suppression looking to have worked wonders in Georgia, oh glorious night! I anxiously await the hot takes about how it all went wrong.

Weird to see Kemp leading in Georgia.
Thankfully there's no shenanigans there that could have swung it in his favor.

CBC reporting that although it looks close at the moment, most of the results so far have come from historically red states, so what we're currently seeing shouldn't be surprising.

But that's where they should be seeing gains. Blue states voting blue again doesn't matter.
