All I want for Christmas is .910 goaltending until the playoffs (then we’ll need better).

Awesome win but man I don’t know what they’re going to do about the goaltending. I just can’t see Smith getting too many more shots without hurting their playoff chances.

The key for me was scoring right off the bat on the powerplay in the third. That makes it 2 goals down with practically the whole period to play.

Worth noting: Peters split up Gaudreau and Monahan in the 3rd, and each of their lines scored a goal. Maybe something to keep in our back pocket for the future as I find sometimes Monahan's game improves when he plays a game or 2 away from Gaudreau.

Is there a post game feed for Money's Interview?

So there I was ready to turn the channel, I heard that there were a couple of quilting shows on PBS, and you can never practice enough cross stitching. But I said, man 5 more minutes.

I mean even with the score at 4-1 I thought that the Flames were actually the better team overall. But who knew the miracle that was about to happen.

I want to do some quick shout outs.

Sam Bennett - People toss around the term bust with him way to often, while his finish is in question at time and he seems to have some bad luck, I can't question his will and desire. He has the same mind set at MT. He's tough he checks well. That fight more then the penalty was a game changer as he showed that he is a good pocket middleweight. You could literally see the bench straighten up when he started throwing bombs. If there was a CaptainCrunch game changer award, it goes to Bennett.

Jusso Valimaki - The more I watch this kid, the more impressed I am with him. He is such a detail oriented player who does a lot of little things right. That hit that lead to the turnover is a star play.

James Neil - I know he's in the dog house, but he looked engaged tonight, and got rewarded for it. You really notice him on the forecheck as well.

Gio - He just doesn't age, I would guess at some point he was bitten by a radioactive pitbull and underwent some kind of mutation. But he's just an absolute beast.

Brodie - a great defensive play and outlet pass, you can feel him starting to gain some confidence.

Really the whole 3M line - They put a blanket on the Avs very good top line. and added a bunch of offense, what more can you ask of them.

Mike Smith - I want to be angry at him right now, but he's in a tough spot, he couldn't make a save to save his life in the second, but in the 3rd he looked like a different goalie. Smitty though man, I love you, but the Flames have to go to the back up in the next game.

I accept that's your intent. It's not what you wrote.

pretty crazy to see them #1 in the pacific, #4 in the league total, most goals in the league, 6-3-1 in the last 10

been a very nice stretch for them

Well, I mean, he did spend that year over in Russia before turning into a monstrous talent. Maybe he got a little too close to Chernobyl and mutated into our beloved super Gio.
