Kerr hopefully is not replacing Millions. Have to assume Leslie keeps that job?

IMO this means he doesn't have a job to go to right away, and Steinberg is being supportive.

Who quits a low paying job when they don't have a new one lined up?

Kerr will make an obvious guest in the future if he wants to be a part of that. I am assuming that is what Steinberg is talking about. As long as Kerr is following a league closely he'll be a solid person to consult and talk to on air about said league. So I'd expect Kerr to be someone that is occasionally called on by Fan960 to be a guest.

I suspect, what they are referring towards is Rob Kerr will be on in the future to discuss his new job.

Good. I was doubtful because usually when there’s a new job lined up, the person says what it is. Or, if it’s a competitor, that comes out right away.

Wasn't it hinted that he is taking some sort of role with the Hitmen?

Or he starts the new job in the fall and choose not to discuss it as of yet.
That's my guess.

Yeah that is laughable for the op to infer those guys are making that kind of money to fill radio air time....Why would anyone leave Radio if they could pull down $100k-$250k annually? I would wager the entire on air morning show crew pulls in far less than that combined.
Despite being a bit of a spaz, Kerr knew his stuff and was extremely passionate in doing so. Really sucks he is gone as whoever replaces him won't be nearly as good.

Also, the morning show was discussing how his passion in recent years was growing towards grassroots community involvement. My prediction is some sort of community engagement role/event host on behalf of the Hitmen (or CSEC).

Pure speculation but the fact that Francis and Kerr, who seem to be close, both resigned around the same time, with both promising something is on the horizon, makes me wonder if they will be involved in the same thing
Both were vocal supporters of an olympic bid, so I wonder if it is something to do with that.

Possibly, but that seems like it would be far too temporary for family guys to cut dry and run to some sort of probably/maybe Olympic bid that may or may not pass in a few weeks.
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of these guys are putting together a web-based, local sports platform of their own to rival the current radio station and other mediums in a much more dedicated fashion. I've always found there is a huge void in the local sports coverage on an intimate level here. If it wasn't for Pinder's 10 minutes every morning, you often wouldn't even know this city/country has more going on outside of CFL and NHL sports.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Francis has already promised he isn't done covering the Flames and that people would be seeing much more of him in the future. To me, he hinted that he'd be a TV personality. This was during an interview on 960 just after he announced he was stepping away from his current job.
As for Kerr, no idea.

I think for the most part web-based local sports is tough. You don't have enough scale to be able to properly monetize through advertising. You might get a couple of local sponsors, but not enough to allow it to be your primary gig. Basically it ends up being free or close to free
There have been several attempts (a couple by Mike Lownsbrough) to create a local web-based sports show, and from what I know they've pretty much failed.

It would be tough sledding for sure but I can't really picture these guys doing anything else beyond some sort of broadcasting or media....I guess we won't know much until some sort of statement is made in the coming weeks.

I have all the evidence one would need. But, all I will say is, this is Rob's announcement to make.
someone in here was dead on as to what his new role is though.

Francis already has his restaurant side business. Kerr I don’t think has any past side businesses but he sure has been involved with community sports so some sort of job in that area isn’t much of a stretch.
