What a pass by Tavares to start that, blind backhand spin o Rama across the ice right to the defensman. Had the Flames suddenly scrambling to find their guy and a step behind.
No issue with Smith there.

The team gave up two goals in under 3 minutes and just got scored on again. Not a lot to cheer for so far tonight.

Smith is not ready. Need to pull him now and put Rittich in. Obvious at this point, so guess what? Gullys will do it after he let's in 5. Horrible coach with horrible decision making. We are lucky to have 78 points in spite of him.

I was afraid that this would happen. Everything working against the flames. First game back for Smith, Isles losing 8 straight, Calgary back at home after a great road trip...

Probably not properly prepared for what the opposition is going to bring at them? It is consistent as hell that this team just doesn't show up at home. Any why wouldn't preparing the team for what the opposition is going to be doing NOT on the coach??? The team spends all that money on professional scouting but the team never looks like they have been briefed. Is it on the players to distill that data themselves and build the game plan themselves? Nope. That is the job of the coach. Just like its up to the coach to set the lines and make in game adjustments.

Smith's not getting pulled no matter what. What's the point of getting your obvious #1 back if you don't allow him to get a full 60 minutes of ice.

Incredible discrepancy between home and road. They just seem tight at home and can't start games with jump. Nerves and hesitation.
