I think Lazar and Brouwer both played well against Anaheim. I would've played both. *Shrug*

If we're lucky Treliving is exploring trading Brouwer. I wonder if those rumours earlier that we had moved him mean that Treliving had asked him to waive his NTC?
I mean Treliving will admit mistakes. We stopped playing Raymond. I'm sure he isn't happy to be paying 4.5 million for a 4th liner.

Couple that with the comments from Friedman last night and in his 31 thoughts suggesting Jankowski won't be in the AHL much longer.

Brouwer is a far better choice than Glass, and I'm no fan of Brouwer.

Brouwer, Glass, Stajan, Backlund, Frolik, Bennett.
These guys are the players we use on the PK and some we use on both PK/PP.
We don't use Lazar on either special teams unit, so it makes sense as to why he is the one that sits out.

I think our roster situation gets sorted out after the Duchene domino falls. There are 2-3 too many players in Calgary

Like it or not, Brouwer's $4.5M contract likely plays a huge part of this.
I wouldn't be surprised if the owners are not keen on seeing a big contract not playing. It's not always as easy as best player plays, or earning a spot/role through hard work.

Outside of Clifford, the Kings aren't dressing a guy known to fight much. Is Clifford enough to keep Glass in the lineup, or could Stone, Bartkowski, Ferland and Bennett been enough physical support?
I'm not a Brouwer fan, but he is more usefull than Glass, so I am fine keeping him in over Glass, but there's no way Lazar should be the guy sitting.

Unless a trade is 99% done, putting Brouwer in the pressbox hurts you when you are trying to trade him. Play him and let him gain regain some value. If he strings a few games like he did against Anaheim it will only help the team.

16. I don’t think Mark Jankowski is going to be in AHL Stockton for too long.
I love that haha. A whole blunt point for an AHLer

And that's it. Stajan and Brouwer should not be on the current roster, because of Jankowski and Lazar; yet they are both unmovable. So, as a GM, you have to tell the coach to keep playing them a) for even a slightest chance of a trade happening and b) because they're veterans. Glass should not have been given a spot to the roster, but lack of toughness during pre-season was a concern, obviously...
We're stuck with this roster situation until the trade deadline at least. Might as well stop complaining about it.

He expanded on this somewhat during a TV segment in between periods of Vegas vs. Arizona. In his usual way of trying to say something without saying something. I think a trade is coming.

I hope so.
He might just be taking Treliving and Conroy's statements that "Janko is ready for the NHL, we just need to find room for him" as immediate news.
It certainly suggests something should happen relatively soon, a trade would be ideal as we just have too many bodies.

I don't like Lazar sitting but I have kind of accepted that in a guaranteed contract league you are going to have these types of situations all the time and there's still a large amount of head coaches that overvalue experience over energy and enthusiasm.
I think Brouwer is going to probably see the press box this season but the coaching staff is going to give him a much longer rope seeing it kind of shows up the coach's boss and makes for a less than desirable situation going forward especially if he can't pick up his game when he gets back into the lineup.

Considering how the season ended I bet there is some carry over. Tkachuk will make dough boy his bitch again and dough boy will try and get one of his older brothers to fight Tkachuk.

Agreed, but really, the toughest guy they're dressing is Clifford, who isn't all that tough. I'd give Ferland the edge.
Plus, Tkachuk showed last year he has no issue standing up for himself against the Kings. I hope he makes them all his B***H again.
I wouldn't keep Tanner Glass in the line-up, just to stand up to Kyle Clifford if need be.

True. I wouldn't dress Brouwer either.
