It sure is. I remember collecting his rookie card and how amazing he was back in the 90s. Surreal to see him in Flames silks. Even more amazing to know he is finishing his career here and it is the only Canadian market he has ever played in.

Love Conroy. Wears his heart on his sleeve. Looked like a kid in the candy store meeting a super hero.

Damn that was awesome.

Can't wait to buy a sweet, sweet Jagr jersey.

He pretty much said his body isnt ready for playing at this point.

Give him a week and a half or so of uptempo practice and he will be ready to roll.

Kudos to Treliving for pulling this off.

He will need a couple of weeks to get his game legs I'm sure, but he will provide such a good example to the young guys on the team.

I heard a interview with Jagr talking about getting into the swing of the season with his age.
He said something to the effect that young players "peak" their intensity in preseason because they are looking to get a job.

Veterans on the other hand escalate more slowly and look to "peak" near the end of the season.

He went on to say that in the first handful of games he feels slow and needs his line mates to skate for him before his body is used to the work load.

Its funny, only a 45 year old Jagr could get away with saying that he didn't do much during the summer so he needs some time to get ready. For the record, I'm not annoyed its just a funny contrast to if any other free agent did the same thing they would be drawn and quartered.

Jagr has always been a character, but I guess I was a tad surprised with how gracious he can be.

Yeah, I think he is being humble as well. He looks to be in great shape. Just needs to get up to game speed.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him play Saturday. I think he means he won't be 100% for a little while, but the guy has always been in great shape and at least has been practicing.

He may be rusty and not used to his teammates, but I'm guessing he plays.

@RogMillions
Jaromir Jagr has been on planes all day to arrive here in CGY. Like 12 hours in all including connections. Good of him to do media avail.

@ryanleslie73
When I was 42 I asked @68Jagr about playing in @NHL at 43 & how remarkable that was: "don't blame me for you not doing more with your life"

CaliPantherFan, you sure know how to pick your teams huh? You got to witness Jagr on one of your teams the last 2 and some seasons and now get to watch him in his potential last season as an NHLer on your other team, the Flames.

I'm truly jealous.

I'm not worried about him being out of shape. By all accounts he's a gym rat.

But 5 months with no team practices is going to leave some rust.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
