Uhhhhh.
I hope you're the one making a joke. You're telling me Engelland somehow went from a NHL Caliber defensemen last season to being hardly NHL caliber over the summer? The guy earned every single penny of his contract. I'd take him 10/10 over Kulak/Wotherspoon/Bart any day of the week.

If Kulak remains less than impressive, if I were Treliving I'd tell Andersson to start looking for a place in Calgary and move Stone to the left side. We really don't have time for Kulak to be finding his game again like 6-7 games into the regular season if Stone's OK on the left and Andersson is still impressing, particularly in increasingly difficult circumstances.

Yeah I was kinda wondering - if Stone and Andersson play together, who plays offhand? Does anyone know if either of them has ever played left side?

Play Andersson as the #6. Bartkowski eats popcorn and provides 200+ games of NHL experience to allow GG to spell Andersson when the game starts to look a little overwhelming.
Kulak and the Spoon can run away together.

Please be Andersson and Kulak. I can't imagine having Bartkowski around any more.

Let's be real its going to be Kulak and Bartkowski. The only scary part of having one of those guys getting caught on the ice with lets say McDavid.

I know that it was only the first split squad preseason game but Stone and Kulak didn't do a horrible job against McDavid in the sept 18th game. In fact I thought that their games together really complimented each other.

I suggested that Stone be the one to move to the left in that scenario because he's a veteran, he's got a slapshot he's not afraid to use (so shots are then more square to the net by default), and they would be getting a lot of offensive zone starts.

Kevin Jokipakka just got released from his PTO. Shoots left. Who thinks he's a better option for #6 than either Kulak or Bart?

I confess, I liked Kev a great deal under Hartley, and I was hoping he would progress further under Gully, but it didn't happen. I would probably be in the minority for giving him another chance, but if he can't crack washington's D then he's not good enough to crack ours....
I still think he's miles ahead of Bart.

I would be ok with Jokipakka coming back as the #6. Such a great name too.

During his first season with us i saw an ad on a moving van (I think it might have been AMJ Campbell?) with Kevin's face on it with the caption, "You Jokipakka, we Joki-move ya!"
