Sorry if this was already asked or discussed, but will the Flames have the tailgating section opened in front tonight like 2015? Have not seen anything on it

Disappointed to see Bouma in the lineup tonight. Should have been Lazar.

Huh, ... don't agree.

He's had two breakaways and failed to score, another where he was tripped (stumbled), and then two late game plays on his stick. One he should have scored (game one), the other he made a bad call and passed up a shooting opportunity.

You don't get those chances by playing perimeter or not waking up. Give me three scoring chances for skilled players a game and I like their chances. Just not getting the bounces right now.

Not surprised. Brouwer is getting key PP minutes (including faceoffs), and Bouma is getting key PK minutes. Don't see Lazar filling in on either front.

At least Bartkowski can skate -- he just needs less minutes, and hopefully we'll see some better matchups on home ice. Wideman effect is real (see the penalty called on him in the Kings game) so I'd only go to him in the event of injury at this point.

If you include the regular season, we've lost 4 straight against the Ducks. That's gotta turn around tonight, right? Right?? It has to! I'd say the hockey gods owe us one.

I have a feeling the Flames will make this a series tonight, and I'm sure the home crowd will give them a much needed boost. Win tonight and we've got a chance.

Go Flames!

Okay well you can think he's playing well all you want.

He's been a complete non-factor this series and missing breakaways and screwing up 2 on 1's doesn't change that.

Your best players need to be your best players in the playoffs and if thats all our best player has to offer then we're in trouble.

I think he'll do better tonight though. He just needs to get some confidence and the last change might help him there.

Said before the playoffs started, will repeat:

To win a playoff series we probably need to win:

a) 1 Game where we make a comeback
b) 1 Game where we completely outplay the other team
c) 1 Game where special teams are the difference
d) 1 Game that Elliott just steals for us.

Which will it be? Hopefully this one is (c) and then the next one is (a) and then game 6 is (d)...

I'm not. I thought Bouma had a great game. He won a lot of battles in the corner (once was able to fight off two ducks for the puck while his line was changing, starting an offensive pressure sequence for the Flames), was one of the few Flames to consistently go to the net and was instrumental in killing the 4 minute minor. One unlucky bounce doesn't change any of that.

The Ducks luck in this series has run out, with home ice advantage I think Monahan-Gaudreau-Ferland will be more dangerous and the 3M line will capitalize on turnovers. Elliott will keep the soft goals out in the 1st and the Flames finish with a statement game for the series.

Go Flames!

Gaudreau's VERY quick to pass the puck at the moment. There is both good and bad in that.

The Good: He is connecting with the majority of his passes. Many are to places where the Ducks are not expecting (or even identifying). The puck movement when he makes these passes is exceptionally quick as well. Ducks can't cover the whole ice.

The Bad: His threat to score, particularly in even-man situations, is correspondingly diminished when he's so quick to pass. (So much so that a shot in a 5-5 situation at this point might shock the hell out of the goalie.) He's not shooting except in obvious situations (and even perhaps not then at least once in game 2).

That said, he's not playing "badly". There is just so re-emphasis he could stand to try (attempt a couple of shots to keep the Ducks more honest against him). If he had scored on either of his breakaways or on the 5 on 3 - and normally he would have at least one of those three - it'd probably be a different tune on here right now about him.

EDIT: I suppose a legit criticism of him would be that when that line gets hemmed in defensively, although he does play his position, he's not much assistance in getting the puck out along the boards. However, that's not new for him. Short of suddenly discovering his Kryptonian heritage or getting bit by a radioactive spider there's not much a guy his size can do on the back end to physcially dominate guys like Kesler, Getzlaf and Perry.

Next 3 games will tell if the Flames are for real in this series. Win two at home and steal a road victory in Anaheim.

Flames are better than the stupid ducks. It's cruel that the universe is punishing them. I hope this injustice ends today.

You aren't in trouble until you lose at home.

I'm not worried yet, series is still within reach.
