To have not one but TWO 1500+ games in the NHL first rounders (Doan taken 7th)...
Both also would be around 1600 right now had it not been for some labour disputes. A full season in their prime lost.

And that's 10 goals now for Montreal. The first time that the Av's have given up 10 goals to an opponent (although the predecessor Nordiques did it more than once).
An auspicious night for the wrong reasons for Iggy!

Pretty fitting timing. I got a notification on Facebook yesterday that it was the 3 year anniversary of my Iggy Flames tribute:

Celebrated by being -2 and 4 PIM.
Or what I like to call "a Chris Butler hat-trick".

Iggy didn't deserve his team to get crapped on for this milestone.. that team is rough though.
Guy has always been such a gamer. Miss him

Damn, in respect to Iginla they should have put him on the game sheet, dressed 22 players and given him the night off.
Lord knows the rest of the Avs took the night off.

God damn, I don't care if I'm banned or whatever. This was an embaressment. The players on that team should be ashamed for playing with no pride. It was an important night on HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA, and a FIRST BALLOT HALL OF FAME player reached a career milestone!
Maybe it is Jaromes fault for leaving the Flames, but I have no doubt that this team or any from the past would have put up a much better effort, in fact a world class weffort, for a world class player!

I actually can't believe Emelin.
Lines up Colborne for no reason when his team should just be relaxing and running out the time. When Colorado reacts, he knocks Iginla down, and then manages to disappear in that crowd. Comes around from the side and does this kind of suckerpunch jab with his glvoes off, and when Iginla turns around to fight him, he hides behind the goalie.
Wow.
Good on Iginla for sticking up for a teammate, when nobody else really would. I swear, Colborne needs an off-season to just work on boxing. This is the 2nd time I have been this surprised at his reluctance to stick up for himself (the first time being when Hertl (yeah, HERTL!!) pretended to be Marchand hitting Sedin, only Colborne was laying on the ice, and those punches were full wind-ups.). Heck, just pretend you have a backbone and do that fake fight where all you do is try and wrestle around.

39 year old playing in his 1,500th and is the only one on the ice to stick up for a teammate. That's Iggy (and the Avs) in a nutshell.

Well said. That was a total annihilation. Wow! What was your TV room like when the Habs got lit up by the BJs?

And a 6'5" 26 year old unable to stick up for himself is Joe Colborne in a nutshell too.
