If Wideman didn't make that play it would have been an odd man rush anyway, I think you forgot he's slow as hell.
So now we are at the point where any good play he makes it has an asterisk because in upside down land we could have been scored on. Why can't people just be happy.

I haven't been so comfortable with our goaltender since the days of Kipper and oh boy does it make a big difference.
This is also back-to-back Johnson games where in the post game interview players are mentioning how much easier it is to play when you have trust in your goaltender. Instead of trying to reduce low danger shots that Elliott can't handle, they focus on reducing the high danger chances which seemed evident in last nights game against a very high scoring team.
I really don't think the Flames trust Elliott right now, nor should they. Keep riding the Chad until he starts slumping. I feel like he'll be a really durable goaltender because he's always so calm in the net and doesn't move more than he absolutely needs to. Very methodical with his movement.
You're talking about a guy who grew up a Flames fan and was choked up just to put the jersey on for the first time. I think he'd be perfectly happy staying in Calgary.
